Amtrak Union Station To Disneyland

Why do I get the idea there's not going to be a flood of answers? :rotfl:

Generally, the best way to find how to get from one place to another in the greater LA area (using public transit systems) is at http://mta.net. On that page, you enter your "from" and "to" locations in text boxes and are given possible ways to make the trip.

Here's what I found:

The estimated times on one page seem to be off. When you look at the details of all the alternatives, they all are about 2 hours long.

I would choose what seems to be the simplest - and one of the cheapest ways. Take the Red Line to MTA 460.

We came into the Fullerton AMTRAK station (worked out better than going into Anaheim) and just took a cab to the park. Very simple. I believe ART goes to the Anaheim station.

The Anaheim Amtrak station is in Angel's Stadium which is a few miles from Disneyland. (1-800-872-7245)

There is a shuttle service that will take you from the station at the stadium to Disneyland for $3/person. I think it runs pretty frequently throughout the day.

Ooh nice...how do you find info on that? Is it run by Amtrak? (I'm a hanger-on to the thread b/c it looks like I'll be taking the Surfliner from San Diego, at the end of a different trip, early morning to Anaheim, to spend the day at DLR before catching a plane home)

Someone before has mentioned that stopping in LA and taxiing in can be faster than taking the train into Anaheim.

Depends on the time of day - traffic from downtown to anaheim can be brutal for the entire trip if you catch it just right. I took the metrolink train down to fullerton to get to DL once. Then I transferred to the public bus to get to the HOJO's and met the rest of my family who was already there. You get one free transfer to public transportation with your metrolink ticket, and Fullerton has buses going on a pretty frequent schedule straight down Harbor.

The Anaheim stop is physically much closer and therefore a cheaper cab ride from the station. If you do take the train and plan to taxi to your hotel, that's the best option.

That's the ART shuttle.

I wasn't clear on if the OP was taking the train and getting off at Union Station him or herself or just asking for a shuttle from Union Station in Downtown. Perhaps OP is getting dropped off there at Union Station by someone else? I don't know the details. In any case, I am sure that just like with LAX, there must be shuttles that go to and from Union Station. I was actually going to look into that not long ago, but then plans changed and I didn't need to. Basically, there is no fast - or cheap - way to get to Anaheim from any part of L.A. (and I live in L.A.) through any way other than a car. Public transportation - I will be honest with you - is a nightmare these days because so many people have opted to leave their cars at home due to gas prices. Buses and subway trains are jam packed. A taxi could cost a small fortune. There must be a shuttle service. Possibly even the airport shuttle services provide service to Union Station train passengers.

Sorry I left out the link. Just got home and looks like above posters have answered it for the most prt. I'll just add this link that goes to just a map with other accompanying information. I like it as a simple reference page with everything you need to know. http://www.rideart.org/ART-Map.pdf

Can anyone suggest a shuttle service from Union (AMTRAK) Station to Disneyland?

You are soooo right. I mis-read the station! My apologies to the OP. I will leave my above post since it seems to have helped others, but as or the OP's question:

You should be able to take the PacificSurfliner (about a 40 min. train) from Union Station to Anaheim station (in Angel's Stadium). (1-800-872-7245)

Then, take the shuttle mentioned above from the station at the stadium to Disneyland for $3/person. (http://www.rideart.org/ART-Map.pdf)

Thanks everyone for the input. I was not clear in my question. My wife and I plan to travel on the Sunset Limited from New Orleans to LA. I was curious if anyone has used the Super Shutlle or similar services to Anaheim.

I would have to check into schedules to transfer trains from Union Station to Anaheim. I would rather not. The Sunset is notorious for not arriving on schedule. We will have been on the train for 2 days when we arrive. Would love to be able to go relatively straight to a hotel without the high price of a taxi.
