Amtrak Question

Does anyone know if Amtrak will allow standby travel on an earlier train if space is available. We are booked on the Autotrain for a Sunday departure but could go Saturday if they would allow it. Does anyone know if it can be done or has anyone done this in the past. The 800 number said no, but she also didn't understand the term standby travel so I don't know if the answer is truly no or not.

Which # did you call?

Try 877-SKIP-I95 I'm not sure if its the same as the USA Rail #.

Also if that Fails ask for the stations phone number, they might know.
