Amtrak or Bus Anaheim to San Diego

We will be going from Anaheim to San Diego to see friends. Any comments on the Amtrak?

Don't want to Greyhound it. Want to feel "safe".

Ideas anyone?

We did the reverse trip from San Diego to Anaheim and loved it. Would absolutely do it again.
If you are travelling during a busy time I would recommend booking business class. It's not that much more expensive and you are guaranteed a seat. If you are regular class and the train is full, you could end up standing.

Depending on where you are going you could do Metrolink to the Coaster it would be less expensive.

We took the Pacific Surfliner from Anaheim to Sand Diego (and return) last May. The trains ran on time, were very clean and comfortable.

We would definately use this Amtrak route again if we ever get back to California.

I've taken the Amtrak down to San Diego a few times and I always love it. It's comfortable and clean. I always try to grab a seat on the right side of the train (when heading South), so I can see the beach as we pass through San Clemente.

My friend lives in the Anaheim area and has done the Surfliner quite a few times to San Diego, once when she was largely pregnant and not comfortable driving. She loves it, its a really nice ride.
