Amtrak and Disneyland

we're doing it in a couple weeks, but not into Anaheim, but in to Fullerton, on the Southwest Chief. It's cheaper and easier to go that way. Otherwise we go past Fullerton, through LA, change trains and then to Anaheim....and get there 4 hours later.
And then we're staying in Anaheim. Let me know if I can answer any specific questions - we were able to get a great deal. 2 for one, roundtrip for $116 from New Mexico. There are great codes all over the place - I'd be happy to help you find them....

Lead away! I'll take any help you can give me. Thanks!!! Where are you staying once you arrive? Are you renting a car to get to the hotel?

We are renting a car, although normally we would not do that there. We're renting it from Avis at the ParkVue Inn which is right across from Disneyland. We're visiting DH's family member who can no longer drive so we'll need a car for a day or two, and then going to Knotts one day. We do not plan on having it the whole time we're there. Everything is so close to Disneyland. We're staying at the Radisson Maingate and will have ART passes.
I don't know where you're coming from on the train, but there are great codes for free passage or discounted passage all over the internet. I can help a little bit with that. We got a buy one get one free ticket - so I was very happy with that.
My understanding is that you can take a taxi from the Fullerton and Anaheim stations, or take a bus (easier from Fullerton than Anaheim as I understand it). But I think we'll be taking a taxi since we'll have luggage. No one seemed to know whether or not you could take luggage on the bus.
Feel free to PM me if you need any more info, or post here of course.

Right - the return train (the Pacific Surfliner) actually goes through Fullerton on its way to Anaheim and on to San Diego.

There are taxis outside the Anaheim station when the trains come in.

I have taken the train from San Diego to Anaheim, but I have never stayed in Anaheim for the night. The train trip from San Diego to Anaheim is very pretty and goes right up the coast and through the canyons.
