I called a few days ago. I started with DVC and tried to make a reservation for a ride. They had me call the Boathouse directly. The CM there said they are not taking reservations. It is walk up only for the Amphicar. The ride is about 20 minutes and it $125. They do give a DVC or AP discount. It can handle three adults or two adults and up to two small children. http://www.theboathouseorlando.com/amphicar-tours/
There is another ride in a different type of boat that offer chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for two. It is $150 per couple. http://www.theboathouseorlando.com/lady-rose/
Then there is a water taxi that is larger and can handle more people. It also offers the strawberries and champagne and it is $75 a person and $50 for children under 13. http://www.theboathouseorlando.com/venezia/
In addition ... I believe you just book rides right there at The Boathouse. Pricey to me, though if you are splitting a few ways it's not so bad. I see them launching all the time when we are there, so people are riding them that's for sure.
We just had lunch at Boathouse and server gave us a brochure for $25 off if you spent at least $50. We did not do the ride though. We had time constraints.

The price is insane, but no need to try to make a reservation ahead of time. There's plenty of cars available and the few times I've been there this year, I haven't seen anyone in the cars. So you should easily be able to walk up and get going.
I'd only slightly agree more with the price if they let you drive the actual amphicar
Food pricing is not as bad at lunch as the evenings. Good too. Have to remember, I'm sure they are paying a heavy premium to set up shop on Disney property.
FWIW: The Amphicars are owned and operated by The Boathouse, not Disney.

Thanks! Wow that's a good discount. Hope they still have that when we go. I'm sure we will spend that much on food being a group of 5. I want to pay for my dad to do the ampicars as his birthday present. He missed his chance in going in one at a boat show a couple years ago so I thought this would be perfect. And if I can get $25 off even better.
