In looking over the participating businesses, there aren't any local gas stations participating as they have in the past couple of years. That's disappointing!

I was able to register both my card and my husband's whose last 4 digits are diff. than mine although we are on the same account. I was surprised it let me do this - hopefully I didn't disqualify us. But in reading the offer "rules" it didn't say one offer per household.

my sister and her DH were both able to get the credits last year, they have the same thing with different #'s on the same account. they were unsure if it would work but it did

You can use at the same establishment but you'd need to break into three, $10 charges to get the full $30 value. This might be a little challenging for getting gas as you'd have to stop at $10, go in and pay, do another $10, etc. So to answer your question its doable

I have 2 Amex cards and have never heard about this. Can someone elaborate? Is this promo only good for one day?

My problem is a store i like locally insists they are participating(have the shop small rug out in the store) yet they are not on the online map of participting stores. And it seems thy must be listed to be included.

I just did a search for our area and our business is listed. We never did any kind of sign up for it but we have always accepted AmEx. I believe that last year you got your $10 credit as long as the business was not a franchise or chain store. ie Target, McDonald's, Hair Cuttery, etc were not participating businesses but the local toy shop, lunch counter and hair salon are participating as long as they accept AmEx.

2 years ago I had a Groupon for a remote car starter, the business was listed as participating so I made the appointment for Small Business Saturday. When I went to pay with my Amex the guy asked me if I had another credit card, did not want to take my Amex! I lied and said no and he finally took it. Why register your business and then not want to take the card. That year it was a $25 credit so for sure I was determined that I was going to use my Amex.

Like I said in a PP, our business is on their map but we never registered it for Small Business Saturday. We accept AmEx and I guess that's why we are on there. I know that AmEx charges the merchant more for a transaction than MC and VI, so some merchants with a narrow profit on their services/merchandise will discourage customers from using it.

It says this on the page thanking me for enrolling...

Please note that this submitted Card number is the only Card that can receive the offer. Any other eligible Cards (including those linked to the same account) must be submitted separately.

Thanks for the reminder! I had totally forgotten that we did this last year! We have two AMEX cards...so that is $60 of free stuff! And last year I did not know restaurants were involved...so we could include lunch at our favorite pizza place while we shop!
