AmEx in WDW?

DH and I are considering getting the Amex card instead of traveller's checks.

Do the shops and restaurants accept Amex?

Yep used it for our honeymoon in Disneyland with no issues.

I do have a caveat for you... If you do decide to get AmEx for your trip, get your card plenty of time in advance of your trip. We got our first AmEx card not long before a trip and, without telling us, AmEx put a hold on our card because of all of the large trip related purchases we had been making. I think they were concerned that either our card was being used fraduently or that we were racking up a big bill that they weren't sure we were capable of actually paying! DH called them, explained the situation, and made sure that, once we were in Orlando, we would not be having problems charging things. So, if you want to use AmEx on your trip, be sure you have a little bit of history with them first.
