Traveling with DH and 2 kids, going to USO on the way through Orlando 3/14-16. I can get the Amerisuites at Universal for $62 with tax through hotelmartusa. (We need a suite since DH is a night owl. I know the suites there just have the dividing wall, but it might do for 2 nights.) Is this a decent rate for days during spring break (3/14-16)? If not, any suggestions on how to get a better rate/suite in the USO area?

I think it is a very decent rate - however I am not an expert.

you will very well - I just checked their website for the same dates it is depend $86 to $95 a night

We've gotten the Amerisuites Universal (on two separate occasions) through Priceline for $28/nt. by bidding only 2.5* and only the Universal Area. There are no guarantees that you'll get the Amerisuites so, if you must be sure, Priceline isn't the way to go. If you're willing to take a little chance, it can save you a ton of $$. You can try www.biddingfortravel.com for useful information about Priceline and the Orlando area in particular. Good luck and have fun planning.

Thanks for all the info. I'm a little scared to try Priceline because we need two beds, and would prefer a suite of some sort. I would love to get a deal like that, though.

You are still bidding on an 'unknown', but if you go on betterbidding, you can pretty much know what your hotel is, and hotwire also tells you if the hotel is a suite or not.
