Has anyone stayed at amerisuites northwest in orlando? We booked there for the night before and hope it is ok?!

:) We stayed there in Oct and it was great. Got it through priceline and we were delighted with it. The shuttle bus took a while to come round at the airport but the next morning the shuttle driver took us straight to the car rental place. The breakfast is awesome also.

Wendy, what was the breakfast anyhow? Like muffins and stuff? do they have a restaurant on site for dinner or did you bring food from the airport? Also how did you arrange the shuttle to pick you up at the airport? thanks ann

We just stayed there in February the night before our cruise, and it was great! The room was huge and a full suite, with living room/bedroom/kitchenette. It was really nice. The breakfast was terrific -- muffins, donuts, danishes, toast, bagels, cereals, even french toast. And of course, coffee, juices, and milk. And for the $25 rate I got through Priceline, it couldn't be beat. :)

The shuttles run every half hour, you just have to wait out front a few minutes ahead of time -- no need to sign up or anything. Very quick and friendly service. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Hello:
Gina or anybody else that has stayed there, why does the write up mention that as soon as you step into the lobby you will see how serene it is. I am just wondering what the lobby is like, if it is something special. This is the amerisuites northwest,

Anybody?

Deb.

We stayed there via Hotwire (around $30) and really liked it. That was a while back, and I don't remember anything special about the lobby. But the rooms were nice and the continental breakfast was enjoyable. Their shuttle from the airport was very prompt, too.
If you want this hotel but are afraid to take a chance via Priceline, look on Hotwire for the hotels listed with "suite" amenities. They will probably be one of the two Amerisuites. We have stayed at both and have liked them equally well. The only reason I won't bid a lower star level on Priceline is the possibility of getting the La Quinta on Daetwyler Drive (not to be confused with the La Quinta Suites), which is a SLUM!!!

I stayed there a few years ago. Didn't notice anything special about the lobby, but the rooms were pretty big and great and the breakfast was really worth it. I loved having access to a microwave. Definitely worth the price!!

When I stayed there, one day they had what was called a Manager's Special in the afternoon and there was complimentary beer, pizza, soda, chips and salsa, popcorn, and other snack items. We stayed there either a Thursday or a Friday (more than likely a friday). Not sure if they still do this.

We've stayed at both the Northwest and the Northeast. I can't believe the prices you all got for your rooms. I'm going to have to investigate that!

The Continental breakfast (Northeast, 4/2/04) contained:
Boiled Eggs
Cold Cereals (raisin bran, apple jacks, and a few others)
Toast (white, wheat)
English Muffins
Belgian Waffles (you make yourself)
Bagels
Yogurt
Oatmeal
Syrup, whipped cream, strawberry topping
Jellies
Bananas
Apples
Orange Juice
Apple Juice
Milk
Coffee (always available in lobby, as well as hot chocolate & tea)
Muffins (blueberry, banana nut)

Like I said, you make the waffles yourself, and you toast the bread, bagels, english muffins yourself, too. We enjoyed the breakfast. It was open 6:30 - 9:30 (M-F) 7-10 (S, S). My husband and I got a laugh at how quickly they close the breakfast down~right at 9:30. I was making a waffle, and the staff person took the spatula away before I could get it out of the waffle iron!

The NE promotes that they have free transportation within 3 mi radius (upon request). There are other restaurants in walking distance. I remember: Hooters, Benigans, Denny's. The NW side has TGI Friday's nearby.

The shuttle to the airport runs on the half-hour.

If you arrive at the airport, you can use the courtesy phone near the luggage pick up and they will pick you up from the airport.

As far as the lobby, I wouldn't say anything was impressive. I think the pool at NW is larger.

I believe the Manager's Reception was on Wednesday. It was during the afternoon, if I remember correctly.

We had access to a microwave and mini fridge in our room and they even had a few complimentary snacks in the room (m&ms, butterfinger, granola bar).

Is this the same hotel? It is right off of airport ( semeron) road near the Bennegins and TGIF?

I had 2 rooms booked thru hotwire for $43 each. Kids were across the hall from us.

Everything was good, the front desk personel were very helpful and nice.

The breakfast was delicious. They had a waffle maker that was soo cool. Delicious!!!!!They also had cereals, boiled eggs, danish, juices and fruit, bagels and cream cheese, muffins and english muffins.

I would stay there again, but maybe next tinme try for a lower rate thru priceline.

For those of you who got Amerisuites on Hotwire, what is the icon for "suite" ameneties? Do you remember what icons showed up? TIA

If I remember right it was a Red S. WHen you ran the curser over it it said the word Suite. I think it was a 2 1/2 star also for Amerisuites.
