This one is my go-to recipe for them. I usually make half with raisins, and half without.

The most heinous of crimes!!! He definitely should receive the highest punishment in the land for that!
But is it more heinous a crime than the abomination of a recipe that Buzz tried to pass of as butter tarts ??The most heinous of crimes!!! He definitely should receive the highest punishment in the land for that!
The second video seemed close to authenticity. But I claim ignorant American in this case. The American in me prefers a Black and White cookie instead anyway. But is it more heinous a crime than the abomination of a recipe that Buzz tried to pass of as butter tarts ??
Equally as heinous! They should both be sentenced to community service and be tasked with something truly awful, like tending to Don Cherry's laundry for a year (can we still talk about him??? I hope I'm not making a faux pas.) or shoveling stalls at the RCMP barracks in Regina or picking up goose poop in local parks. But is it more heinous a crime than the abomination of a recipe that Buzz tried to pass of as butter tarts ??
So if you have never tasted a butter tart and have no idea of what even remotely constitutes an authentic one, why would you respond to a post from someone who was looking for the best butter tart recipe that was tried and true? The second video seemed close to authenticity. The YouTube channels I posted are well respected vloggers. I figured they knew what they were talking about. The recipes looked yummy to me anyway.Equally as heinous! Glad to be of service. I know I have posted the older version of the ad, but I don't recall if I have posted the updated one that they did in 2020.Many thanks to my Canadian DIS friends for teaching me about house hippos. I want one.So stinkin' cute.
So why don't you make some and try them out. They aren't that hard to mix up and you can buy pre-formed tart shells at the grocery store. I dare you...ha ha! Then come back and tell us how amazing they are! (Just make sure you use a classic butter tart recipe.)The YouTube channels I posted are well respected vloggers. And butter tarts! You ARE making butter tarts, aren't you?I’m curious Canadians, does Canada do anything special for Epiphany? I’m making a three kings cake tonight (Spain’s version) to be eaten tomorrow.
Deal. Canadians should make and try black and white cookies and tell us American disboarders what they think. So why don't you make some and try them out. Next weekend, if I have time. And butter tarts! You ARE making butter tarts, aren't you?![]()
Sure! I'll take that bet. I'll either hit up a bakery for some or make my own and report back. I have been meaning to try them anyway, but just never have, as I'm not super big on cookies.Deal. Canadians should make and try black and white cookies and tell us American disboarders what they think.
Sad thing is, it probably does come close to the top of the "corrections" rubric here in Canada. The most heinous of crimes!!! He definitely should receive the highest punishment in the land for that!
It’s sort of a NY thing. Many New Yorkers think they have the best recipe (many families have one passed downed through the generations).Sure! I'll take that bet. It may have started in NY, but I think even Costco carries them in the northeast. I'm not sure about other areas. I've seen them in lots of bakeries. It’s sort of a NY thing. Many New Yorkers think they have the best recipe (many families have one passed downed through the generations).
Does your family have a recipe I could try?(many families have one passed downed through the generations)
