Americans and Canadians culture Q&A Thread.

There used to be two. But that was a long time ago. And there have always been Canadian players. I remember probably the greatest Canadian player in history. I was a grad student at Santa Clara University when they had this pimply faced freshman with a crew cut from Victoria, BC.

🇨🇦 Definitely the Canadian GOAT and now the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. Not to be confused with the GROAT (Greatest Raptor of All Time) which is either one of these guys, depending on who you ask. :goodvibes

it depends. Donuts? 100% Tim Hortons. Coffee? Ugh, neither. 😂

Or TIMBITS®?

My last time in BC I did stop at Timmy's on the way back to Seattle. Weird too as it was a combo Timmy's and Esso station.

Kind of feel sorry for him now. He had a great situation working for the Warriors. He didn't really have to do all that much as he was in the Jerry West role. He's got a dumpster fire now in Brooklyn. Can't really fault Durant as he's willing to do what it takes to win. But having to deal with James Harden and Kyrie Irving must have destroyed his soul.

:o Sorry - I don't understand a word you just said. I'm not a basketball fan; I'm a bandwagoner. I don't follow the league in general, just the Raptors. I'm sure you've probably made good points though. :goodvibes

Irving and Harden destroy any team they play with.

Cliff Notes version. James Harden and Kyrie Irving are ME, ME, ME players. Expecting that they would play well with others was a mistake.

Dunkin Doughnuts or Tim Hortons? Which is better and why?
For me, Tim Hortons.
Better coffee. Fresher baked goods. Consistenly good at all locations.

Anytime I’ve had Dunkin in the States, which I admit, is only a handful of times over the years, doughnuts tasted stale, and I just didn’t like the taste of the coffee.

Dunks used to be better when they actually made the donuts in house. They still have the best Boston cream of any chain I've tried, though.
Oh! I also recommend going to Dunkin when traveling abroad. I found last fall that Dunkin in Spain is way better than what we have in the US. Some even have ice cream!

The battle of the blue collar coffee’s.. lol

I drink dunkin’ when i’m in Boston or traveling on the Mass turnpike to Boston because I don’t care for Starbucks which is most often the two choices available 🤷🏻‍♀️
But when in western NY or here at home it’s Tim Hortons 100% of the time. Better coffee and fresher baked goods/doughnuts.

Curious, any idea how much Lays and Ruffles are in Calgary (I got that right, right??) PC stores? Actual Loblaws here is $5 a bag or 2 for $9. Absolutely insane price increase in the last year….
Most stores sell them for $4.29 for a family-size. SuperStore and No-Frills included (we don't have Loblaw's proper) sell them for 2/$7.50 if you buy multiples. This is my recollection; I don't buy chips super-often. You could be right about current pricing. When I'm in Ontario I always marvel at how much less groceries cost than here. If your prices are up, ours must be too.

Our Lays chips went from 3 for $8 to 3 for 9 this week. I think it used to be over $3 for one not sure what it is now for one.

This is at Walmart. Loblaws was alway more for everything only go there if there is a sale product I want or a President’s Choice product like white Mac and cheese.

A few of those may have found their way into my suitcase on my way home this Christmas.

Don’t mind me as a silently weep at how much I paid for a pack of chips today…

Is the Canadian dollar worth more than the US dollar? I’m trying to figure out the inflation difference between our two countries.
