American Thanksgiving...

I understand American Thanksgiving is on November 24th this year. However, I was wondering when do most Americans travel for Thanksgiving and how long do they stay? Will most arrive on Thursday and leave Sunday? Or will they stay a week?

Just trying to gauge the expected crowds and DVC inventory. Also, trying to see if I need to book DVC now or can I wait until my plans are more firm.

When we booked WDW for Thanksgiving, we went out on Wednesday and came home on Sunday.

My co-worker is taking the preceding week off, becauses he'll only have to pull his daughter out of school for 2.5 days. I would think many would do that. (Moreso non-DVC'ers taht may not go as often, but would stay longer)

If you are talking about DVC accomodations, availability is already very limited. If you are talking about crowds in the parks, they tend to fall off significantly beginning the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The week leading up to Thanksgiving also tends to be quite crowded.

I would make your arrangements now! I was able to grab a studio at VWL at 9 months out. We are arriving November 19 and departing the 25th. Good luck!
