That all depends on what state, county and school district you live in .. it's really REALLY not standardized in the U.S.

It seems any time in march or april is probably spring break somewhere.

There's variation even within the same family...older kids at one school, younger kids at another, and you've got different breaks. Generally they begin in mid-March and end the week after Easter or mid-April, whichever comes last.

I know all WI state colleges are out of school March 16-22.

My dd highschool is out the same week.

The week before Easter.

My opinion. Do not do the week before or after Easter.

I read on here the other day that someone said the third week of March is bad because of Spring Break...Ours here in MS for most is the 2nd week, that's when we'll be there.

Any where from mid March to mid April is usually Spring Break. The worst week will be the week of Easter which is the 23rd of March in 2008. The crowds get worse as you get to Easter and then drop back off the further you get from that week.

It really is all over the place. There's quite a bit of variation, even within the same region.

My college break is first week of March.

My kids have a long weekend over Easter and another in mid-April.

My friend who goes to a college about 20 miles from me has her spring break a week later than mine.

Her DD has the full week after Easter off.

And her sister's kids, just 5 miles down the road, have a long weekend at Easter and then the first full week of April off.

It all makes it pretty tough to plan anything for our families together over breaks! LOL

Ours is the first week of April, the same time it was last year. It was pretty busy then.

My college spring break is the first week in march, but my mom's (who is a hs teacher) is the last week in april

For most of central Alabama, this school year Spring Break is the week of March 16-22.
