I just got home (yes, at 12:30AM) from the American Idol concert in Philadelphia. All I can say is, WOW!!! It was a great show! If the tour is stopping in an area near you, I highly reccomend going to it. Everybody looked and sounded great, and it was great to finally see my favorite Clay Aiken in person. TV definately doesn't do him justice.
At one point, a fan threw a dollar bill up on stage at Clay with a note attached, saying "Here's a dollar for the Grease hip shake." Clay's face turend about 100 shades of red, but he finally did do it. The women in the audience definately enjoyed that!
We had great seats, on the floor, about halfway back. We were in section 5, row 9, for anyone familiar with the First Union Center. I couldn't ask for better seats, center of the floor, center row! I just wish the people in front of me wouldn't have kept holding their signs up during the show and blocking my view.
The thing that surprised me the most about the show was the fan support (or lack thereof) for Ruben. I don't know if it's just a regional thing, or if this is reflective of the entire country, but Clay was hands down the most popular one of the group tonight. There were people in the crowd actually booing Ruben. At first, I thought it was just people chanting "Ruuuuuuuben," but they were actual boo's, and they kept up the entire night. Not a person was in his/her seat during Clay's performances.
I have a role of film that I need to develop, and I can't wait to get them back! My digital camera doesn't have a zoom that far, so none of those pictures turned out.
Now, it's off to bed! I'm already planning to go to next year's AI concert.
