Well, did I ever waste an hour last night! What the heck was that all about?

After an hour of "stretching" to fill it, I felt like I did when it turned out that it was just a dream when they answered the question "Who Shot JR?"!

No one was eliminated last night! AND, they knew it all along (they said they had agreed to that before the voting even took place).

I guess because Corey was kicked off, they had to stay on a "schedule" and decided, after stringing everyone along, that everyone could stay.

All I can say is, Carmen and Kimberly C., your time will come!!!

I could have been watching my favorite show--The West Wing! Actually, I didn't realize the show was going to be an hour long or I wouldn't have wasted my time--I'd have waited until the last 5 mins or so and flipped the channel back and forth!

What I will say is man, what a surprise about the bottom 3! I didn't see that one coming at all. . .Does anyone else think the public was giving Trenyce a "backlash" vote because of her prior criminal record? I just wondered because, while I'm no Trenyce major fan, I didn't think she did that badly on Tuesday. Go figure. . . It's nice to see the judges taken aback by the popular voting.

I understand about the schedule, but c'mon--wasting an hour just to have this happen. My guess is the "powers that be" didn't like the way the voting turned out. I guess it's like the stock market--just a correction. ;)

Hey, FOX, you did it again just like with Joe Millionaire! We're sick of your lies!

Give us our hour back. We were told someone would be going home last night and you "made us" watch the entire hour.

There, I feel better! :)

I got up this morning planning to post "Was ANYONE disgusted with American Idol last night???"

I should've known my GMTA buddy FOJMO would beat me to the punch! :teeth:

I cannot believe that they planned this until they saw Simon's "baby" almost OUTTAHERE!

BTW, who do you think Simon was referring to when he said that a guy should've been in the bottom 3. I think he meant Josh but Rickey was nodding like he thought it was him. I wonder...

I tried to tape it last night but I messed up!! Could someone tell us who the bottom 3 were and then give a brief synopsis of the show?? Thanks!!

Rickey was nodding, but I am sure he meant Josh. He thought Josh was awful last night (as did I). The bottom 3 were Kimberly Locke, Carmen and Trenyce. I really thought it should have been Rickey, Josh and Trenyce. But my opinions are based on the perfomances, and I know Josh has a huge following, so I was not really surprised.

I only watched the tally of the votes, as I didn't have any time and fast forwarded through the rest. Did I miss anything else? What was the comment about Simon baby being outtahere?

Thanks!

Erika

I was totally blown away with the bottom three last night. I thought when it came down to Kim or Carmen being the last one to get called that it would be Kim. I'm getting rather tired or her even though she has great stage presence. When they had the three up there and told Kimberly to sit down I just knew Carmen was gone. Even though I think it was rotten to make us sit through that hour I'm glad Carmen didn't get booted.

Now, do you think it's fair that they carry those voted (or lack thereof) over to next week? Does anyone know what genre is coming up??

I completely agree! What a waste. The first thing I said too was they tricked us like Joe Millionaire. The elimination show doesn't need to be an hour in the first place but to do this! Do you think Simon knew? He looked somewhat surprised? I also think he was referring to Josh, and after this past performance the only one that I think didn't belong there was Carmen. She did good this week. Josh definitley did belong there though.

Not ONLY did they waste an hour of my life, think of all the money they took in (15 million phone calls) and basically stole from people. I don't know about you guys but I was PO'D after that little stunt!

If carmen and kimberly get voted off this early the shows really gone somewheres in a hand basket..

There was no sense for her to be the final 2

To vote is free (well except for the text messaging, that depends).

Anyway, I was SO MAD. I'm glad I didn't watch the whole hour, I started watching at 9:00. But still I couldn't believe it. That was so not right. And did anyone catch a glimpse of Simon at the end? He did not look happy. Do you think the judges didn't know about this stunt?

You could see how scared Josh was about possibly being in the bottom three. I think he almost cried with relief. He knows he should have been there, but people like me (I voted just a few times) I guess kept him out of there. I know he is better than what he did Tuesday night. Anyway...

Fox wasted my time and I want it back!

Why in the world is the results show an hour long anyway?!!!! I didn't watch last season, but my friend told me that the results shows used to only be a half hour long. The hour is PAINFUL and full of filler. I'm going to stop watching it until the final 15 minutes, I think.

Although I did feel that FOX wasted my time, I was relieved. Trenyce and Carmen aren't my favorites, but I didn't think that either of them deserved to be voted off based on this week's performances.

What was that extremely cruel comment from Simon about? "Someone sitting over there on the couch should be in gone this week and he knows who he is." Come on - I think he was talking about Josh too, but that is pretty harsh based upon one bad performance in a genre that's not his natural one.

I ALSO think that the judges didn't know about this decision (probably made by the producers). Simon's look of disgust/shock at the end told it all.

One other comment about last night's show, I'm a little tired of the whole junior-high locker room "You're gay!" "No, YOU'RE gay!" banter. Shut up. Using "gay" as an insult is just enough to make me want to turn off the TV, how condescending, and what does that teach our children about diversity?

And all I can say is if Kimberly Locke and Treynce (not a huge fan of Carmen) are in the bottom 3, but Ricky and Josh are not, I have to wonder what America is smoking. The two ladies far outweigh the two men as far as talent and stage presence, imo.

I was surprised at last night's outcome, but my DH & I had already debated how they would fill the "extra week" so the finale would still be during May Sweeps. Well, now we know, they wasted one whole episode. But, I don't really think that either Trenyce or Carmen deserved to get booted last night - Ricky and Josh had much poorer performances. Simon certainly did not look happy when they made the announcement though, did he?

And, I do think it's fair to keep this week's votes and add them to next week. It would have been less fair to just disregard millions of people's votes (mine included)!

I missed the first part of Tuesday's show and completely missed last night's show. Could someone please tell me what happened to Corey and why he was disqualified? Thanks...

During the show I said to my husband I wonder if they won't send anyone home because of Corey. I was not happy Kimberly was there. I like her and I thought she had done a better job than the others. I too think Simon didn't know that nobody was going home because he seemed shocked and disgusted by it. I don't think he agreed with that decision. It was a waste of an hour. In fact my TV listing had it as a half hour show. They easily could have done it in a half hour. What a waste!!

I feel that Simon meant Josh but he could have meant Clay also. I posted this on another thread but I think that he is disgusted with Clay. Clay has this wonderful voice and won't step out of the box and take a chance. He just sings the same all the time.

Last night was just a waste of time but the voting could turn the tables on someone. Don't forget, they are going to add this week's votes to next weeks for their elimination.

I really wish they'd cut the results shows down to half an hour! The group performances they use to fill time usually aren't worth all of the time the kids are having to put into them-- let them sleep in this week and cut to the chase! I think that if they *really* wanted to get better performances out of them for the competition, they wouldnt have them stuck doing Ford commercials and fake birthday parties and such.

Anyway, I was pretty mad last night when they said that neither one was going home! I wonder if the audience threw a fit.

Also, if Kim C says "Well, like I said, I like to keep my comments to myself" *again*, I may be forced to kick her ;) That's getting annoying! (And this from someone who is supporting her!)
