American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

I'm really ready for Danny to go now. I haven't paid that much attention to him so far, he's always just been there - not one of my faves, but not terrible. But tonight he just creeped me out. The screeching and cheesy 70's pimp outfit were just too much!

My take on tonight's performances:

1 - Once again, Adam nailed his song. This may not be my favorite type of music but Adam was by far the best of the night. No one else was even close and did he ever look like he was having fun.

2 - Alison did OK by her song. Didn't love it but she included the right amount of energy. And I liked her hair, maybe she had extensions put in. You could tell that she was in her element with this type of music.

3 - Kris wasn't very good. To be fair, this is one of my least favorite Beatle songs but Kris just looked and sang like someone had let the air out of his balloon. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he wasn't feeling well. I felt sad just looking at his expression after the duet and before he sang his solo.

4 - Danny was just horrible. And to think that Michael Johns got voted off last year after doing a much better job at singing this one. And those of you who are critical of Adam for screaming, Danny ended with a horrible scream. You can't even call that singing. At least Adam's high notes are on key. I liked how Randy described it as being made up of as attempts at several keys. I am also surprised that no one has mentioned the run of several Do-Do-Do's that Danny inserted about half way through.

Also loved Adam and Allison on "Slow Ride". I loved it when Adam said that she was like a little sister. They looked like they were having fun and that should be what music is about.

I also can't hear a Foghat song without thinking of a Jim Carrey appearance at a MTV awards show few years ago. He came in character with long hair, beard and a fish net t-shirt. His speech included the comment "would it kill you to play a little Foghat?" The clip is too raunchy to include the link here but it is worth googling for a laugh.

It wasn't just the end note. There were several really bad pitchy parts to that song. I would have excused him if he had been in the least bit remorseful about it but of course he thought he nailed it.

I've loved Danny from the beginning - but last night not so much. He can't pull off the screaming. And I think Slash was trying to tell him that.

But really Kris was worse imho(and allison not much better by the way)

Adam was amazing last night but after watching my dh said that he felt violated.

This was not the night for Danny or Kris. If anyone should go home it would have to be Kris. Danny has a great voice. Rock is just not his thing. Adam was good but so was Allison. I would love to see Allison win it all.

Wow what a night! I love Rock music and it was great (for the most part).

Adam --- he did my favorite Zepplin song and he NAILED it!!!! OMG That was so crazy good!!!! He better be safe

Allison -- I love her voice, she has that rocker edge to it and she is amazing. Although it wasn't my favorite song, I think she did very, very well

Kris --- Uh OK...he just doesn't have the rocker bone in him and he looked uncomfortable up there.

Danny --- OMG that was horrible!!!!!! Seriously why did he take on a big song like Dream On???? He does not have the voice for Dream On.
last season I thought Michael Johns did Dream On fairly well, head over heels better then Danny did last night, so in my opinion Danny should go tonight.
Btw-- that was a SCREECH at the end, it reminded me of the pyscho shower scene

Duets--- Kris and Danny --- nothing to write home about

Adam and Allison --- OMG I wanted to see more!!! They brought the house down. LOVED IT

Who should be safe tonight: Adam (hands down) along with Allison

It shoudl be a toss up with Kris and Danny, if you are going by just the songs of last night Danny should be packing it up tonight!! But I am sure he won't.

Was it me or did Kris look really, REALLY angry during/after his duet? Like very unhappy to be in that position. Danny threw his arm around him, and Kris just barely (and reluctantly) reciprocated. Just looked like a pouty teenager who wasn't getting his way. NOT that I blame him...he was so blatantly paired up with the losing team for the duet. There was no way they could do better than the A-Team.

And oh boy, do I ever want to see an A-Team finale. Hopefully everyone had a chance last night to see how very cool that would be. Their duet was like a little preview of what a great finale we could have if everyone votes PROPERLY!

Poor Danny. He was sliding along all season and he STEPPED in it last night... Did he NOT watch the Dream On curse attack Michael Johns just last season??? And MJ sang it 100 times better!

Here is rock lesson #1. Adam could demo this, but I will just try to sum it up here. Danny needs to listen. You cannot JUST scream, you have to scream an actual NOTE. That's the difference between singing a rock song and being killed by a large knife.

I totally agree! And when he did the "doo-doo's" I said to DH, "He did NOT just Doo-doo in an Aerosmith song?!!!!!!!!!"
it was a terrible choice for him. What was he thinking?

I liked Adam/Alison duet, but I was sooo hoping for Bohemian Rhapsody...
