American Idol Top 20 Season 9

when i had gone to the Idol tour the year he won, i waited outside the venue for HOURS before AND after, and he never came out(i guess he was doing some press somewhere in the area) and i wrote to my local radio station telling them about that, and asked if they'd be doing backstage passes, and how i'd go about getting one. they called me on my day off at 7am to tell me they were giving me passes!!

altho, it wasn't what i thought it was going to be. when you think "backstage pass" you think it'll be a smaller group of people and you can hang out and ask questions. for this one there were at LEAST 50 people there, and it was "get up there, snap the picture, and get out!"

but hey...at least i got my picture taken!!

yeah, that's just not fair for me. LOL No hard feelings whatsoever. I was friends with a bunch of DC fanatics online, and that year that he won, everyone in our group got to meet him....except me.

I think the reason he didn't come out for the second half of the tour was because I heard that during one of the after-show signings, some angry fan was trying to get his autograph, and David, in the chaos, just happened to miss him. Then he got nasty, cursed him out in his face, and tried to attack him. Every concert after that, he never came out. It was a real letdown, because it happened like, 2 weeks before my tour date. *sigh*

and Idol related, Mike's performance wasn't THAT great....he didn't destroy the song, but I didn't go "woah" from it. lol

ugh, there is NOTHING else on television right now, so i guess i'm stuck watching Idol anyway. at least until 9....

tbh, i kind of thought it wasn't that fair either they had mentioned something about his birthday after the fact that they gave me the passes and asked me when his birthday was and i'm left going i felt like SUCH a bad fan!!

and I met Archie on the tour. He dropped his sharpie on my foot during the signing and went "Oh my gosh! I'msosorryI'msosorry! Did I ruin your shoes?" THEN after signing my 8x10 of him, I held my program to my body, and he thought it was something else to sign, so he bent down and started to sign it, and I went "What the? OH! You didn't have to sign that! You already got me!" and he went "OH! Oops! *nervous laugh* I'm sorry!"

That's exactly how he said it too. Made me laugh though.

I think they wanted to take advantage of the first-time availability of the Beatles' songs. They weren't allowed to do those songs beforehand ever on the show, so they went a little power-crazy with it. Juuuuust a little bit.
