Terrible song choice from Clive, negative comments from Randy, and Simon outright saying "you won't make it". It makes me want to vote for him just to spite the show.

Or is that their plan.....

I know what you mean. I felt he did the same thing to Catherine last week, but she still ended up making it. I wonder just how much influence they do have on the voters. At the end of the day, I bet people just vote for whomever they like anyway. At this point, people have already made up their minds who they want to go all the way.

I heard on the radio today that Paula said she wanted Elliot to win, so maybe they were just trying to counteract that?

It's hard to know what they're trying to do, much less how effective it is, because as likely as not, they're trying to help a contestant by saying they did poorly. (That helps light a fire under that contestant's fans, and also will get viewers who don't like the judge to vote for that contestant out of spite.)

All the judges loved Elliot last night or at least his voice. It's Catherine that Randy always has a problem with something she does. It's amazing!

....She's more diverse than the 2 guys. More fun to watch on stage. Elliot has a great voice but he's so boring to watch. Hicks looks too old with that hair color. He's got a great voice but his stage presence is not something teenage girls are going to buy tickets to see. And lets face it,those are the people that are going to these concerts.

Remember, the margin of error is plus or minus. If you subtracted the margin from Taylor's score and added the margin to Katharine's score, that gives Katharine a slight edge over Taylor. That's why Taylor can be ranked either 1 or 2. Same reasoning if you subtract from Katharine and add to Elliott, but Taylor and Elliott are far enough apart that Taylor has an edge over Elliott.

Right now it's too close to call either Katharine or Elliott as the one going home tonight. Besides, isn't that suspense what we all like?
