American Idol Season 9

This may have already been discussed here last night but the thread went so fast, I couldn't keep up with it.

Is the recap of the performances at the end of the show filmed from the dress rehearsal?

The reason that I ask is that they show the end of Crystal's performance and it's obvious that it wasn't from the live show as she was not emotional/crying.

On a side note, they picked a horrible part for Lee that really didn't give you a good picture of his performance.

SO MUCH DRAMA WITH HER!

It gets me so annoyed. They're so pushing for her.

I get the emotion that her father was in the audience, and she was touched, but then everyone gushes over her.

I know I sound like I have no heart, but it's just so unfair when they put all the attention on one person.

Frustration aside, it was a great performance, and it WAS inspirational. I just hate obvious favoritism, that's all.

Huh. I have always thought they give Siobahn WAAAAAY more accolades and credit than she deserves. And TONS of extra airtime. Drives me nuts, and I feel like I am watching a totally different show, lol. At least Crystal sings (and plays) well.

Overall, though, this might be the most pathetic season I have EVER seen.

It is a pretty bad season. Boring really!
My take....
Crystal shouldn't even be on the show because she is in a different league. She is far more mutitalented than the others IMO.
Lee is good and he will make it once the show is over.
Sibohan is good, but at times she sings through her nose. Also, she is a little "off"...which makes for good T.V.
Mike is a great singer, but picks the wrong songs. He is also, IMO not as marketable so may not do as well after the show. (Think Ruban Studdard)
Casey will make it after the show...probably country music.

they usually do that. i remember in season 7 that happened a lot, the clips at the end were always way different than when they were actually singing.

interesting. however that would prove me right about what i said lastnight with the person who "supposedly" is at the very bottom.

and i'm still going to say that i don't think Tim is going anywhere. he'll be there until AT LEAST top 5! don't forget he's got all the little girls voting for him, and they probably text, which isn't counted on dial idol anyway.

Yes! It messed up my recording too. I never caught up with Glee then it cut off recording. Stupid Idol. You need to be better to ruin shows with good singers.

But don't go the club route either. That may be inexpensive but it was hot as hades when I went to see Modest Mouse at one. MM was awesome but the venue sucked.

so where should he play? no colleges, no clubs, no casinos....what does that leave??

....as far as David Cook getting a 'sympathy' vote, that is totally untrue - if anything, he got a lot of 'cougar' votes....and if you disagree with me, I'll sic 'ATTACK KITTY' on you......

i couldn't find the original comment, but how on EARTH did he get a sympathy vote?? ita, he got the cougar vote. no one got a sympathy vote in season 7, there wasn't anyone who had these huge "sob stories" that's probably why i liked it so much lol.

Hmm, surprised to see Siobhan predicted to be "safe." Blech! I don't think Casey's going home, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the B3. Tim too, unfortunately

For DC...if he can't do clubs, casinos or big arenas...the perfect place for him to play would be in my back yard

I think some think he got sympathy votes due to his brother...but that was such a non issue on the show compared to other stories we have heard.

Bottom person on Idol doesn't surprise me..I find him very forgettable every week.

Crystal has shown she is multi talented and was my top pick since the top 24 were chosen, Lee also is good, I love the sound of his voice, I find myself going back and forth between them over who I like the most. Although I do feel Crystal will be the winner in the end. In recent weeks both Aaron and Tim have improved, but their just is not enough time left for either to improve enough to win and I feel Casey has become boring except when he steps out and shows his talent on the guitar, which is not what the competition is about. Mike, and Siobhan honestly have had their moments but basically do nothing for me.

....ITA - while I too think that Siobhan is good, she sounds more to me like a Broadway singer....

I know I'm late to the party but why can't DC do casinos, colleges or clubs? Those are great places to see concerts! Nice and close!

it was never really talked about on the show, tho. most of it we didn't find out about until the end, anyway. so idk how that would be a "sympathy" vote considering no one really knew until towards the end.

tbh i was almost ready to give Archuleta the sympathy vote after hearing all that scary stuff about his dad. that poor kid...i hope he has gotten far away from him now.

i don't really care for them, but you're right, it will probably come down to Lee and Crystal. they're the lesser of the evils, this season.

i think Tim will make it to top 5, and then probably not much further than that. i honestly think it's Mike and Casey's time to go. neither one of them are really standing out or improving, they're just kind of staying where they have been since the beginning of the competition.

ugh don't even mention his NAME around here. we'll nickname Gokey "he who shall not be named" around these parts

i saw DC at a casino and .....well we had HORRIBLE seats. we were honestly the last row, but we still had a LOT of fun at the concert, and then meeting him kind of made up for the seats lol
