Ahh, I didn't say she WAS dumb at all. I said she ACTS dumb... which she does on many occasions.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, Papa Deuce, I just don't quite agree that Dolly's acting dumb - I would call it more like accessible,and flirty, and possibly even country-fied, but not dumb. I can't picture Dolly ever asking, "What's a ballsy?". She works the system for sure, but she doesn't make herself look like an idiot in the process.

I do agree that Chris didn't belong in the bottom three either, but I do think it's a good wake up call for him to step up some of his performances.

I think the next to go will be Paris, followed by Elliott, with the top 4 being Taylor, Chris, Kellie, and Katherine. Of those 4 I'm really not sure who I think will take home the title.

Yep, Chris won't be going home yet - nor should he be.

I really liked seeing a different side to Chris and enjoyed his performance Tues.
I'm guessing he will be back to the angry, yelling, microphone stand throwing rocker for the rest of the competition if he can. Too bad IMO.
Although that might be tough for him with the love song theme for next week, so who knows?

I tend to agree that Paris and Elliott will probably be the next two to go.

I think Taylor has the fan base to pull off a win more so than any of the others - but Chris or Katherine could definitely be contenders as well.
I'm ignoring Kellie as the possible winner just because I would be so disappointed.

I've got to defend Dolly here - she's one of the smartest people in show business, IMO. She's very down to earth, and knows how to appeal to all kinds of people, which sometimes might make her approach seem "simple", but dumb? Never.

Does this mean I always enjoy her music and have all her albums - no. I'm not a fan of most country music, so I don't. However, I have a lot of respect for Dolly, and when Kellie's been around and had the kind of career that Dolly's had, then we can come back and talk about whether her dumb comments were an act or not.

I agree with you 100%. I am not a big country music fan, but Dolly Parton is very talented and one smart cookie. If Kellie is around 40 years from now, we'll revisit her smarts and staying power.

I totally agree. My son and I are BIG Dolly fans and can't stand country music, even spent a week at Dollywood and LOVED it! She doesn't play dumb, she plays cute, and it is so effective it's lasted decades!

Kellie, and believe me, my kid is the most visual, woman oriented testestoronic maniac in the world, grates Michael's nerves. Dolly has a way of playing naive without playing STUPID, and there's a big difference.

I just heard "Something to Talk About" on the radio and remembered Kellie singing that and thought WOW she's good! Then came the idiot diatribe. It went from being adorable to being unnecessary. If she was truly talented, she could sit back and let her talent speak. After last week she knows that's impossible....

I was under the impression that Taylor went to stand by Chris, and when he heard Ryan say "I'm sorry...." he shook Chris' hand, and walked over to the other group, to act as though he was picking the correct side.

It's a juvenile thing for them to ask him to do - one of many, many things I wish they'd change.

i think you're right...bo did that last year, i don't think taylor could have gotten away with that again.
if it were me i would have stayed planted next to ryan seacrest and said "well, i know YOU'LL be here next week"
i appreciated that taylor shook chris's hand...really, what an ugly situation. other than being a bo copycat, there's no way to look good in that situation. it's just a lousy thing for them to ask him to do.

I saw Ryan on an interview and Ryan said he is the only one who knows whose going home the night of elimination. Not even the judges know or the contestants. So Taylor picked a side. On past idols shows the contestant just stood in the middle, they didn't pick a side. I think that's the smart thing to do. Just to keep the peace.

I didn't mean to imply that the contestants officially know who is getting voted off. I just meant that they hear the same stuff we do so they probably figured Ace was going home. But when Taylor saw Chris he likely thought it wasn't possible for him to be in the bottom three so he chose that side first, then when Ryan said I'm sorry he went to the other side. Who knows...maybe he purposely went to the "wrong" side to show them his support. Either way I wish AI would just quit doing the whole choose your side thing...it's very immature and just makes everyone uncomfortable. They could take a lesson from Nashville Star. Their elimination process is much more mature and easier to watch. I usually don't even tune in for the results show because I find it obnoxious. But I like hearing them sing as a group.

They had asked who were the biggest Divas on AI and the hint was they were roomates. People guessed Paris, blah blah but it happended to be Ace and Chris. Apparently the producers said they were the biggest complainers about food, clothing, song selection etc. Said the producers would have a party after they left the show and I guess they are partying now.

Where did the radio DJ come up with this info? Didn't say, but thought that was a bit of interesting "gossip"

I was really surprised Kellie wasn't in the bottom 3 last night. First thing that came to my mind was, "WOW! Vote for the Worst was busy." I'm not musically inclined ad she was definitely ahead of the music and off pitch for a good chunk of the performance. I thought everyone else did very well vocally, even if I didn't find myself entertained, whereas she was just off.

I was surprised Ace made it as long as he did, honestly. Vocally, I didn't find him very strong. It was like the falsetto was what he had to rely on.

Personally, I think Kellie is next to go. Then Paris. Next, Taylor, leaving Katharine and Chris for the top 2. I think Katharine will beat Chris out for the win. Probably a lot like what Bo said he was thinking right before they announced the winner, "Please don't let it be me." I don't know if THAT title is what Chris will want or need to make him big. Seems like it could pigeon hole him too much.

EDIT: Major brain fart ad forgot Elliott. Sorry man! I think he'll be after Paris, before Taylor.

I haven't been online since last night's show, but I was amazed at most of the performances! I think last night was one of the best shows I've ever seen. And what a weird night when Simon has nothing but nice things to say to the first three contestants.

I really enjoyed everyone last night. I definitely noticed that towards the middle of the song, Kellie got ahead of the music, but I don't think her performance was really that bad.

As for the bottom three, I'm sure Ace is going home tonight, with either Chris, Kellie or Paris being the two others in the bottom three. Ace has already been in the bottom 3 three times, so tonight would be his fourth. If he doesn't go home tonight, I think he'd probably have the record for most times in the bottom three. Is there anyone who was ever in the bottom more than 4 times?

I think that tonight's show is going to be the same as they've done the past two years with the top 7. They're going to put 6 of them into 2 groups of 3, and then the 7th person is safe. I think that Taylor is going to be that 7th person, because if he was in any of the groups, his group would be the one that's obviously safe. Either Kellie and Chris will be in separate groups, so it will be hard to pick out which group is the bottom. Or Kellie and Chris will be in the same group and it will be shocking because it turns out to be the bottom 3. That's how I see it happening tonight.

I watched American Idol Extra this evening on Fox Reality and in their exit interview with Ace they were talking about his wearing a suit for the first time on the show. He said it was the first suit he had EVER bought and that he bought it with his own money and had it custom made. It was apparently very much his own decision to have the style go along with the song. Additionally, he mentioned that it was his brother Ryan's idea to have Ace pull his hair back. Again, it was the right style for the suit and the song.

Oh, and Ace also said that he didn't have a beanie in his pocket because it didn't fit in the suit pocket. He figures that may have been why last night was it for him. (He said that in a cute, funny way.) The people on the show then gave him a special beanie with the ace of hearts on the front.

Also, others may have read this already somewhere, but I hadn't. His real first name is Brett with Ace as his middle name. His great-grandfather's name was Asa and that's where the Ace comes from. He's never been called anything but Ace. He talked about how he found a birth certificate when he was 6 that said Brett Ace Young and he asked his mom who it was! It was a cute story.

He was very poised and spoke about how close he and Chris had become; how they had bonded right out of the block during the Denver auditions. It was a good interview.

They also interviewed Nigel and asked him about next week's theme of Love Songs. He was asked what he would sing if he were a contestant on the show and he mentioned that he'd probably pick You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling as he thinks it's the greatest love song ever. Just to give a hint of the kinds of songs that may be coming up next week.

So, what do you think are the greatest love songs ever? I figure with that for the theme that Simon is going to tell at least one of them they remind him of a wedding singer! Here are some of my choices for best love songs ever (the first two were MY wedding songs! )
