Movie Night theme?

• Adanna Duru – Love You I Don’t tonight. Nothing against you, Adanna…but isn’t that a JHud song? In which case, the inevitable comparisons are not good.
• Daniel Seavey – Baby face Daniel. For my tastes, this was a poor song choice for your voice. This was not good at all. But your fans will save you. Especially if you keep reaching out and touching.
• Rayvon Owen – In corporate speak, this was a ‘brave’ arrangement. If I use that Universal Translator and convert to everyday speak, ‘brave’ means ‘stupid’.
• Nick Fradiani – I don’t know if Nick is in Danger Zone or not. One week I like him, another I don’t. This week, I’m on the fence. There was something missing this week…..could’ve been the guitar.
• Joey Cook – I closed my eyes from the first note and just listened to the perfect pitch. I remember when Adam Lambert sang this song and I downloaded his version the very next day. Joey’s version was nearly as good as Adam’s. Nearly. No sign of cabaret tonight.
• Tyanna Jones – Disney! Disney! Disney! What’s not to love?......Until Tyanna starts singing. Too many pitchy notes. It’s too big a song for her.
• Jennifer Lopez – Not judging. Not a contestant. But singing. I truly loved JLo’s dress tonight. But it would be a nightmare on the Red Carpet! I think I might be enticed to go see the movie.
• Quentin Alexander – Another interesting performance. He can always be counted on to mix it up a little. One of the better performances of the night for me.
• Maddie Walker – She would not be my pick for Miss American Idol 2015. Tonight’s karaoke performance tonight does not change my mind.
• Clark Beckham – I love him (but not in the ‘want to have his baby’ way). Awesome performance tonight. Can we just award him the title now? Oh wait…..please vote for him America!!!
• Jax – What a ‘brave’ song choice. I think the quirkiness is going to pay off for you, though. Loved it. Okay. I’ll admit it. I loved it when Adam Sandler was singing it too.
• Qassim Middleton – They SAVED you???? Might.be.time.for.new.judges. *sigh* (At least you're a performer).

I think it is a good sign for Clark that the local Nashville newspaper is covering him. Nashville is a music town and we are so covered up in singers. With all of that talent some of the local AI contestants get ignored. I hope that this means that industry types are taking notice. That is what matters in the end anyway.

I am sorry because I know some of you really liked Caleb last year but I thought his win might have signaled the end of a AI. Has he even put out a record? I never even heard a single from him get any play on the radio. And, to be fair, I haven't heard anything from Candace either.

Caleb has put out a record that may was by far worst sales of an idol winner to date. Candace I'll double check with but I think she's no longer with the label and doing her own thing. She was in a hallmark Christmas movie called north pole.

This could possibly be the last season but here's my theory and knowing what I know of borchetta, he's not going to let this album flop he has to much money invested to do so.

Label promotion is critical to the success of an artist. I am not personally in the music business but living in this area where music is such big business has made me aware of some of what it takes. There are a lot of people and a lot of dollars working behind the scenes. You can have all of the talent in the world but it is still a business and it takes more than talent to succeed.

You got it. I've heard my fair share of stories on him, I think he'll try and make sure he has every resource available to succeed. He's a sauvy business man sometimes but that are things I question as far as his view on things.
