I thought I heard Ryan say there would be a top 13. The top 5 girls, top 5 guys and then 1 pick for each judge?

I'm sitting here confused...why have the other 5 who they weren't going to have sing even 'go thru' to live rounds? I LOVED Kenzie Hall through out the auditions and am sitting here wondering why they picked all the 'power' house singers...that gets old, real quick. I personally like the quirky ones.

All my text votes and online votes went for MK....the rest were eh and all mushed together.

I guess the boys will be winning it this year?!?!?

I agree. The ones selected to sing tonight were overloaded with those who think shouting means singing. Harry particularly has pointed this out several times this year and then look at who they put thru. And then they wonder why America keeps picking men. I would have loved to hear any of the other five to see if any of them could actually sing instead if shouting.

I think the fall off in American Idol ratings is that the viewers are tired of AI trying to manipulate us into picking a certain type of performer. I had hoped the tremendous success of Phillip Phillips would have gotten through to them to show what kind of performer can be successful.

Oh well, there is still hope for the guys.

I'm finally starting to watch Idol, I just got home. Scotty was amazing live, much better then he was on Idol and he also is so sweet and down to earth. But boo on him making me cry during one of his songs and almost ruining my makeup

Majesty-Didn't wow me, actually made me want to turn it off and go to bed early.

Kristen- Not wowed either and i was rooting for her too.

Brianne- Not to bad, nothing wowing yet.

Jena-MEH! I want to mute and ffw through this performance.

Bria- Never heard this song before. Another power belter. UGH

Marrielle- Not bad, but not wow. I wish she would of done something else to really showcase her.

Jessica- I love this song, just knowing the story behind it and hearing the songwriter version gives me chills. However she is not doing it for me.

Emily- Thank god for something upbeat. I'm not 100% liking it though and I liked her before. Agree with Harry

MK- She's good but I'm still not wowed by her.

Malaya- Eh not a fan. She was way to dramatic for my liking, way too.



Overall the girls stunk and I am sad they cut Brandy, I was really excited for her! She has no luck with Idol I swear. I hope the boys bring it tomorrow and actually keep me awake or I'll be switching to Criminal Minds. All of the girls could of sang there was way to many commercials and filler tonight.

I was really underwhelmed by all of the girls' performances last night. No one really stood out for me. It was so bad that I kept flipping the channel back and forth between AI and the Olympics.

Hopefully the boys will be better tonight.

I dropped out at 9 to watch something my son wanted to see and watched the rest of the show on DVR. It didn't take a lot of convincing to make me change the channel...the show was truly boring me to tears.

The girls seemed shocked and unprepared during their performances, all except MK. No one was AMAZING, most were just okay. I was really disappointed in Marielle who I really liked during the auditions. MK sang a song I loved and did it pretty good so I gave her a few votes.

Everyone else...

Don't understand the Jessica love, the show is really giving her LOTS of hair, I mean AIR time. She kind of rubs me the wrong way.

Looks like they want a guy to win this year, unlike last year.

This new thing of leaving 5 girls hanging just SUX...big time How do they bring those kids that close and then not even give them a chance??? RUUDE!

Whoever came up with this needs to talk to the spiritual counselors...

You'd think someone who has made such a big deal about how hard she has worked as a "struggling singer-songwriter" would know not to act happy while singing a song about a friend's death.
