Yes, she is awesome there. I did like her last night but she got a LOT of vitriol online about her Halo, which I sorta liked.. who knows???

Oh I agree but at the same time I can't really fault Idol to much for wanting a female winner. Country music at least is saturated by nothing but males with a few females, so getting a female in and being successful for them would be huge.

Kree will be HUGE no matter what. I loooove her voice. Her tone is pure perfection. My son listens to her with his eyes closed, he calls it his kreedom time.

And this is a kid who HATES AI!! He's watching this year for Kree and Candice only and the car accident called Nicki Minaj that he can't take his eyes off of.

I feel the same about Candice in R&B and Angie in Christian Music. I think Janelle will do well in country, too, don't you? In the same way Kellie Pickler was compared to Carrie?

Janelle might, but I fear she would fall into getting lost in the country world because there are so many blondes right now. Kellie struggled in country till she got a new label and is going to get better promotion.

Very true Robin. I admit I don't know a ton about R&B type music, very little actually. I just if Janelle goes Kellie Pickler's route she'll struggle in Nashville...Kellie had the best album critically with her last album and it never took off.

Agreed. I think if they think they have a LOOK that will be enough. I frankly find her as attractive as Taylor Swift which means not at all.

I could care less about a "look", I want a sound when I have on my headphones. And I'd prefer an uncorrected studio sound, RARE in this day and age.

I think between this year and last year with Jessica it is so obvious that Nigel wants a younger person to win. He wants to have a "Justin Beiber" female version. He knows that parents will pay out the you know what if their teeny bopper/youngster is in love with someone and he wants what he thinks is a money making machine. What he forgets is that the people who watch and vote are NOT in that age range.

I am guilty of being "that" parent. Back in the N'Sync days my kids wanted to see them so bad and we could not get tickets here..so DH said if I can find tickets anyplace within a 10 hour drive we can go...so we went to Washington DC to see a concert. LOL. This is what Nigel wants.

Finally watched.

Candice: didn't like what she did with the first song, but props for trying to be creative. HATED the 2nd song. Yuck! That said, she sang both beautifully.

Janelle: good choice on song one and nice job. Song 2 should have been Jolleen. She could be in trouble.

Kree: liked what she did with the first song - could be a current country tune. Didn't like the second song, but she sang both great.

Angie: good choice and very nice job on both songs. Only one of the night who sounded current from a "pop" perspective.

Amber: total train wreck on th Nillson song, lots of clunkers. Big time snoozer on Babs, but did sing it very, very, very well. Randy is on crack if he thinks that was current.
