American Idol Season 12 Official Thread

I love Kree and Candace and like Amber. The rest are just o.k. or worse. I agree that this is going to be a boring season if these performers don't start stepping up their game.

I predict Kree, Angie, Amber, Candice will move on. The fifth one I'm unsure of.

I'm go to guess the 5th is Janelle. I don't care for her but she seems like the type AI likes.

Agreed a very boring season. I rewatched the show this morning and for what it's worth, I'll give my half hearted review:

Zoanette: What's Love Got to Do With It. Should've been called "what's Key Got to Do With it" because she barely managed to stay on it. Just awful and she looked even worse. I really liked her last week so this was a disappointment. If Vote for the Worst doesn't rescue her, it was her Swan Song.

Breanna Steer (or this year's Baby Beyonce) channeled her inner Sasha Fierce with a barely known song "Flaws and All". The song is enchanting and the lyrics are amazing but boring. She needs to be HERSELF instead of a karaoke version of Mrs. Carter.

Aubrey Cleland (putting two multi ethic girls back to back seems to blank them out) sang "Big Girls Don't Cry". It was good, not great, and she is adorable enough to POSSIBLY make it thru. Joshua Ledet from last season is pushing HARD for her on Facebook, let's see if he has the pull.

Janelle Arthur will probably NEVER be forgiven for winning over Rachel last week and she knows it. She pulled off Elvis' "If I Can Dream" pretty darned good if I say so myself. She has a lot to prove and she at least made an effort last night.

Angie Miller returned to the piano singing Colton's "Never Gone". No doubt she is THE CHOSEN ONE pt 1 and deservingly so. She CAN sing and perform, but I can't get past those strange eyes . I guess it's just ME.

Tenna Torres got mad props for her chest and her song from the judges, frankly, I don't remember EITHER.

Amber Holcombe sang Whitney effortlessly. She is adorable, too, don't know how far she will go but according to the obvious SCRIPT the judges were spouting last night, she just might. Watch out when Randy blurts "INITtoWINit".... that's classic Nigel Notes.

Kree Harrison sang Faith Hill. She is no doubt THE CHOSEN ONE pt 2, good singer, lousy stage presence. Nicki, diligently reading her script, called her SEXY.... ... DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT? Kree can sing but she's about as sexy as my big toe, but if the AI powers that be want an image out there, they PUT it out there.

Next we have Pinoy favorite (I guess AI wanted that pack of crazy fans BACK from last year) Adriana Latoya or something like that. Booooooooring. She's talented, but to make it this far you should be, but AND look at where she is on DIAL IDOL, y'all.

Last but not least boring, Candice Glover has the sweet spot. She's another one who is talented but doesn't have much stage presence, she will definitely do better after the famous makeovers. She sings John Legend pretty well, but not GREAT like I expect from the caboose. She ended the night with a thud, after a pile of thuds that graced the stage all night.

The show is still very predictable. The judges are given their marching orders and no one, except maybe Keith, seems to have much to say of their own opinion. Keith starts it off with a nice or nice/nasty remark and some common sense, Nicki spouts some unnecessary "it's all about ME" crap, Randy spits out his usual "the producers TOLD me to have this opinion" nonsense, then Mariah wipes them off the stage with motherly, sisterly warm comments which will prevent them from suicidal thoughts behind stage.

Randy: "We're 4 industry professionals who really know what we're doing". Maybe Keith and Mariah, not so sure about Randy. Has he ever once in 12 Seasons offered any advice that was worth anything? Other than "in-it-to-win-it" or name dropping?

Wow I love this first guy. Where did he come from? Beautiful tone, and I can see why Nikki wants to have his babies. I have been so bored this season that I haven't been watching closely but I really like this guy (whose name I don't know!)

Excuse me...but he can also tell that people can sing anything, even a phone book and he is also really good at knowing that someone is only 16 years old.
