I thought the same thing. Maybe it was just the makeup?

I will be clueless. I don't know anything about today's music except for Lady Gaga, Adele and Beyonce... uh oh, I guess I'll recognize what Jessica sings~

I'm not really into today's music either other than stuff on the country channels. I do know some of the songs..and of course the names you listed. Heck, I was the one that had never heard that Moves Like Jagger song before.

And I agree with Robin about Phillip. He would look odd making the run slapping hands. Others may be able to do that, but many look cheesy.

I think it looks stupid for them to be doing it on the show. I don't see the point.

Some current sites guesstimate her current weight at 108 lbs (2012). My DD is 5' 1" 102 lbs and is not skinny. She has plenty of muscle and curves.

Maybe, some plastic surgery has altered her looks?

I felt the same way, it was her face. She did not even look like the same person which is why I wondered if she was ill. I think it's probably a matter of her being on the road and busy with her career...with thin people if they drop just a little bit of weight, especially past the teen years, it can look very gaunt. It might only be a matter of 5 pounds difference for someone that tiny.

I haven't really been a fan of Phillip's until last week when he wore gray on gray and told Tommy what he thought of being a pop star. I know AI really is about finding a pop star though, and Phillip isn't it. He won't win. Good for him though for doing his thing. Sadly I think he may end up like some of the other indie rocker guys over the years, back to the bars they were playing in before they went on Idol. He is good, but it's a certain niche and I don't think the AI people want someone with that sort of audience. It has never worked for the singer/songwriter winners in the past. I see Jessica winning - she's a perfect match for the AI machine.

whilte Kelly is indeed thin, to me her hair was I noticed as much thinner more so than her body. I'm not sure if it being thinner/flatter on top accented her looking more gaunt, less healthy..but it looked like an older womans hair. She has been burning it at both ends with her promoting etc, so I guess I wasn't all that surprised. My DD has been under great stress and also had to switch to a celiac diet. She dropped from 105 to 85 and is 5'3". DD is now holding at 85, and while just rail thin, her health and bloodwork etc all come back in a normal range and acceptable. (tho DD says once she gets home she hopes to gain at least 10lbs due to the stress being alleviated)Maybe Kelly is in a similar situation of the stress affecting her physically. I wasn't crazy about her song, to me that had a lot "less" to it than Kelly did.
As far as PP.. I think the comment he made about staying true to himself , just kinda here for the ride(papraphrasing...don't remember his exact words)hit me as the "uh-oh" moment...as in America won't bother voting for him because he just doesn't come across as wanting it bad enough. Not that he is being indignant, or anything along those lines, just the "whatever" kind of vibe that may cost him.(he could, maybe, clean up the neck a bit w/a shave)I like him, I like Elise too tho, but like others have mentioned, they may be to much of a specific market. AI needs the wind up doll and they may think Jessica but I would be wary. I think that girl definitely has an alter ego, but it ain't BB Chez, I am guessing more along the lines of a *B* in sheeps clothing. Speaking of Elise, she is reminding me of a bunny rabbit..maybe it's all the Easter stuff everywhere, but I just can't get past it. Why all of a sudden she looks that way to me, no idea

No one to drool over, no one to really fight about, no amazing blow us away performances, no great mean comments from the judges. Just meh. I probably would have given up on the show a while ago if it wasn't for this thread. The ones for other shows like the Voice and Dancing aren't as social. (Not saying they aren't friendly, just not as chatty as this bunch.)
