American Idol Season 10: Official Thread!!

Woooo! It's almost here gang. So let this be the official thread for the new season.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. After last season's complete waste of my time, and being a snooze-fest let-down, I can only pray that this season is somehow an improvement. I already miss Simon (and don't care for J-Lo) but I DO love Steven Tyler, so maybe there is hope. For me, it all comes down to the performers. The show doesn't live or die by the hosts and judges. It's about the talent.

So who else is going to tune in?

I miss Paula - even though I would make fun of her when she was on - I realize how much she brought to the show. Especially after last season, what a flop that was. Did not go out of my way to make sure I saw the show. Now I am watching Paula on the Dance to Live show and enjoying that very much. I am a fan of Simon's because he always was truthful and kept it real. Randy always on the fence. We will see what the two new judges bring to the stage. I hope it is better than last year.

I'm watching despite the fact last year was the only one I bailed on... I figure it CAN'T get worse!

I'll miss Simon but I love Steven, I'm just sorry they didn't dump Randy, too! Any year without Kara is a year I'll be watching!!

We'll probably pick the series up either after Hollywood Week (After February 17), or more likely, after Las Vegas Week (after February 24).

I'll be watching, too... will miss Simon, but love Steven!! I won't miss Ellen or Kara at all, but to be fair, I quit watching last season after Hollywood week.

I will be watching but I do agree last season was a complete flop.

I will miss Simon! He was a genius when it came to critiquing the contestants not to mention hysterical!

I saw Paula on her new show and man that is beyond a bore.

Mostly for Steven Tyler, I'm OK w/Randy....JLo...errrrrrr, not really a fan and I think she is going to get on my nerves pretty quickly but hope I am way wrong because I REALLY miss having quality Idol going on!
Like Robin I bailed last season..I think I watched the last 2 nights of it.
My DS has 2 friends, one names Steven and one named Tylee. A lot of times DS's conversation includes them both such as,
ME: who all is coming over?
DS: Mike, STEVEN, TYLER, Tim.....
ME: STEVEN TYLER? At OUR house? WOO-HOO

Lambert was good, but for me, the gold standard for American Idols and the seasons was/is DAVID COOK and his season. My goodness that man just has my number.

I'm ready...will miss the first episode though. Got basketball tickets that night. But I love watching the audition shows.
