I didn't watch the first one from the beginning, but once I started watching I got addicted. I'm gonna watch all of this one. :)

Hilarious!!! These people CANNOT SING!!!! The Twins so far, are GREAT!!;)

I forgot it started tonight. I guess I'll have to catch it next week.

DH and I watched this and we were laughing...I would love to ask some of them if people actually tell them they sing good??:p :p

I didn't watch the first one, but this one is pretty good!! It is amusing, if anything! LOL

I hope the girl who's friends raised $250 for her to go to the audition wins. She was incredible!

But they turned the OTHER guy down, because of the way he Looked!

That was bad...I thought they told the guy he could go, because he could always change his looks.

Exactly whose idea is the American Idol look?

I don't buy music because of the way someone looks on the cover. I buy it because I like the music!

I didn't watch last season's American Idol until the last four shows because my husband was watching. I think last night's show was a riot and I think the beginning where they are trying to pick contestants is better than the end with the final contestants.

I haven't laughed as hard as I did last night in a long time! I thought it was funny when that kid insisted he was going to Hollywood even though he wasn't picked. I think he was the one who sang the Enrique Iglesias song.

I loved the Enrique Iglesias look a like guy.

He actually thought he was getting in with that.

(I'm about 95% sure he did this all intentionally to get on TV and didn't really care about the audition.)

They DID say he could come back. They talked, though, about him changing his look. The American Idol has more than just how well you sing -- it's the whole picture -- looks, style, presence, and talent.

I think the twins were good, but their gimmick is the fact that they're twins. I don't know how much impact they would have if not for that. They sounded good, but it was the twin thing that pushed it over the top.

Last year, I knew that Justin Guarini was going to make it far. He stood out right from the start. I didn't see anyone near that last night.

I will be watching tonight just to get a few good laughs!

We all need some comedy in these tough times!

I wonder how the twins will react if only one of them makes it to the final 10. That's gotta be rough on the relationship.

OMG, some of those people were HORRIBLE.
The Enrique look a like made me ROFL. He's a horrible singer and a psycho! :teeth:

The guy who they said didn't have the look, did get picked to go to Hollywood.

The twins were great, and so was Frenchie. They were the only ones I really, really liked. And the guy who sounded like Frank Sinatra was good, but I don't think he'll get too far.

I'm watching it for the first time right now. how humiliting for some of those people! There are some really bad singers. A bit of advice- don't teach yourself to sing by imitating pop singers! ugh! I wonder how I'd do if I could have tried out...I'd probably crack under the pressure, or my voice would anyway. hehe.

The first night DD was on the computer, so she was in a different room from us.

All of a sudden, I hear this scream!!   The guy from NY with the shirt held together with safety pins who slit his pant leg up to there used to go to her high school!:p :p :p

Of course, the phone started ringing with "did you see him??!!"

Too funny. He sure gave the judges a piece of his mind.:p :p

I also liked "Frenchie" who's friends helped her get to the audition. I love the song that she selected from Dreamgirls.

There was a boy from our town last night that got to go to the Hollywood audition in December. There were over 100 people there and they had to whittle it down to 30. From what I understand they cut everyone under 18, including this boy (He sang "What's Going On" at the Detroit audition). I'm eager to see next week to see if that is indeed what happened. I could understand why--you'd have to put up the minors AND guardians, plus they would have school--he graduates in June. Supposedly now he can't say whether he made the final cut or not, but his little brother is in DDs class and said he didn't. That is probably good news for our HS director--he's had the leads in 4 musicals since he was in 6th grade--he did "Joseph" when he was 13--and they are doing the HS version of "Les Miserables" this year.
Also, the Toledo waitress who went to Hollywood is still waitressing--they had her on Fox News last night--if she had made the final cut, wouldn't she be in L.A. now?
However, let me point out that of only 3 finalists from Detroit they showed (out of 22) that 2 were from the Toledo area!!
