Clay Aiken's debut cd has gone double platinum in 1 week!!!!! He was presented with the plaque on Good Morning America by Clive Davis, the head of RCA. GO CLAY!!!!!

I think it's ironic that you hear much more about Clay Aiken than about Ruben Studdard! It goes to show you that Clay was probably the better choice to win...

Speaking of AI, does anyone know when the new season starts? I haven't heard.

I was so bumped I couldn't see Good Morning Am today. I leave abt 7:10 each am, so I just saw Diane anouncing he would be on the show.

It is wonderful to finally have a good roll-model for our kids. One of the ladies from the fanboard that I frequent went to see him on Good Morning America last week. She said that they were filming him singing The First Noel for the American Idol Christmas special, he sttod there in front of a HUGE crowd of people and prayed before he bagan to sing. He is such a winner!!

WTG Clay - I have the album. Sorry I missed him on GMA - darn kids watching Nick before school.

I'm proud to say that I helped Clay get that honor by buying his CD last week - and it is GREAT!!! Probably the best CD I've heard in years.

The producers and Clay did a really good job of choosing popular type songs that fit his style. By no means is this a selection of cover songs of classics. Every one of them could be a hit.

His cd release has been pushed back several times, the date is now 12/7. I went to the American Idol concert in Charlotte NC, to see Clay, and Ruben sang a new song from his upcoming cd, it was awful. I am not just saying that because I am an avid Clay fan, it was hip-hop and we couldn't even understand most of what he was singing. The only line I remember was something like, "don't stop til we get to the IHOP", it was sad because he tried to get the audience involved in singing it and you could almost hear the crickets chirping. I really liked Ruben's style on AI2 and he could have made a fortune by staying with the blues sound, I don't know now. I certainly won't buy it. On a lighter note, Kimberly Locke has signed with Curb records and just finished her first CD to be released soon, I will buy it.

Way to go Clay!! I missed GMA this morning, but I did see Entertainment Tonight, and I was so excited to hear the news. He has the best selling debut album in 10 years. Can you believe that?! It just goes to show that the wrong man won AI2.
