I did a search for AI Experience but it led me to a bunch of threads about another subject, so...

Anyone have an opinion on this attraction? I've read it's only 25 minutes long, so how does that work? How many contestants do you get a chance to see?

How long is the usual line?

I've watched the show every season except Seasons 4 & 8 with Season 7 being my favorite. Wouldn't mind catching this attraction if it isn't too lame. ;)

We were there last week and really enjoyed it! When my DD suggested we go I was very hesitant but was pleasantly suprised. We walked right in moments before the show and had no trouble getting a seat. We heard 3 singers in the prelim round and had so much fun we went back for the finale which had about 6 finalists. We heard some talented people (and some not;)) and enjoyed the show. The judges are personality copies of Randy, Paula and Simon and the host is amiable. If you enjoy AI and/or music you should enjoy the show.

I gave up on AI after the whole Chris Daughtry thing, but I really enjoyed the AI experience. It is really neat- it's like watching the show. You see three contestants, and "Ryan" does on onstage interview with the contestant or they do a little video clip about them like you'd see on the show. After they perform you get feedback from the judges. After they all perform the audience votes and the winner is announced. They do this several times during the day, and then the winners come back at the last show of the day and compete against each other. They have a guy who "warms up the crowd" and during the show they'll show video clips of former contestants giving advice etc. When we went it was Carrie Underwood and the most recent winner at that time, David Cook. As you can see its been a couple years since we've been to the attraction, but it'll be on the list for a revisit on the next trip... as long as I can pull my DD out of the animation attraction.

we loved the AIE... we're not huge AI fans but the disney version is awesome... and the talent is amazing!!! we went the first time just to get in out of the rain but are totally hooked and even changed our plans to be at the park at the end of the night for the finale...

We really liked the show last year. I think that was the first year of the show. I wasn't sure how it would work at first but we really enjoyed it, so much that we tried to get back for the finale. But we were late and could not get in, however we did get to watch it from outside on the big screen and it was a lot of fun.

If you only have time for one show,DEFINITELY attend the Grand Finale show.It brings the winners from all of that day's shows(usually 7) back to compete for the Golden Ticket.:)

Aaron Kelly, one of the Top 12 on the current American Idol, was a Golden Ticket winner at AIE!:)

This is new since our last trip. How do they pick the contestants who sing? Clearly I need to do some more research about this one.

Anybody can audition before judges who choose who will perform in the shows.

I'd love to try out for this sometime at The World, but I'm too old to audition for the real AI in the event that I should win. :lmao: So do they not even take us senior citizens in the first place?

We don't watch the TV show, but we really enjoyed this show. We got excited about voting, and listening to the singers.

Last time I saw the American Idol experience it was the finale show and I think the youngest person was like 30 and the oldest close to 50,the winner was probably 34-37.So you can audition and be in the theme park show if you're older than 28,from what I understand if you win the finale and are too old for the TV show to audition you can give "Golden Ticket" to someone else or keep it as a souvenir.

That's no fun. I'd rather have a FP.

We bypassed this on our trip last summer, but did do it during on our winter trip. It was alot of fun! We plan on doing it again on our next trip. We saw our winner walking around the park later and told her Congrats!

The last finale show we saw started at the same time the park closed so the only people left in the park were there to AIE,when the show let out we took the boat to EPCOT and the winner of the show walked in the boat and since just about everyone leaving the park at that time was in the AI show, she got a round of applause and requests for more singing.

Ditto for us! I didn't expect much and really enjoyed it, the set is amazing. We ended up hopping back to the studios on the last day so we could see another show. :thumbsup2
