American Idol Concert ?

Has anyone ever attended an American Idol concert? My DS (8yo) would love to attend. I was thinking of getting tickets. Do kids go to this concert? Or would he be too young?

There have been kids much younger than 8 at those concerts. I think it's one of those rare "family" concerts. I think you'd all enjoy it and he certainly wouldn't be the only little one there!!

I took my 10 DD and her friend last year.
I'd say the average age was 7-12 years old.
There were very few teenagers.

That would be a perfect concert for his first time.

DH and I went with my parents to the concert for the 2nd season. It was so LONG. It never ended. It was OK, but my mother turned to me at one point and said, "I have to get out of here....I can't be here anymore." We saw the show in Providence, RI and it was shortly after The Station Night Club fire and they lit off all sorts of pyro fireworks and most people were just shocked that they would do that so close to where the fire happened. I just remember being relieved when it was over because it lasted 3+ hours. People were leaving. My mother and I thought we were dead and in music hell.

I'm sure it's very family-friendly....except for the time thing.

I am taking my DD11 to the show at the DCU center. I got 2 tickets for each night so she is going to one show with me and one show with her dad. I don't think 8 is too young. I think it is a "family" type concert.

People of all ages go, including a lot of kids. I'm sure you'd all love it. It's a good time. We finally got our tickets for the show here in Milwaukee.

Thanks guys! I am going to try get tickets for the Providence show in September. My DS has been asking to go to a concert, so he will be happy.
