American Girl x Disney Princess dolls

Beautiful but out of my Christmas budget..
Whoaa, I didn't look at the price the first time and assumed they'd cost about as much as a regular doll. Yeah, that's too much for me to go for it.

I had a look and I do not know this brand, but also had to think back to my own childhood.... Do dolls nowadays come with underwear? Or is that specific to this brand?

Had a look at some Barbie and Monster High dolls, but they seem to miss their undergarments?

I can remember dressing up dolls as a kid, but not underwear... (could be me)

My oldest is 27 but American girl dolls have been a hot item for decades.

I'm an adult collector. I was in high school when they first became popular and my mom couldn't afford one for me. I bought one for myself a few years ago. I have a huge dollhouse and everything. I'm totally in love with the Rapunzel doll but haven't decided if I will buy her or not.

For once, I am glad that my daughter has outgrown the AG phase! They are beautiful dolls though!

Yes, American Girl dolls have always come with underwear. The brand started with their historical dolls. Their outfits are historically accurate for their time period including underwear. Where applicable that is. The native American doll, Kaya, doesn't have underwear because people didn't wear underwear back then. Kirsten, the pioneer girl, has a pair of pantalettes. Samantha, the Victorian girl, has a pair of bloomers. All the modern girls have modern underwear.

I think what American Girl is trying to do is tie in movies and popular TV shows with their dolls because I think this is their way of staying alive and attracting new audiences to them. Because when I first saw Harry Potter clothing and Halloween costumes for the American Girl dolls I found the idea odd and why did they choose Harry Potter clothing and accessories for the dolls. I guess judging by the success of how Harry Potter worked American Girl decided to do the same thing with Disney. But I can guarantee that these Disney dolls will not sell and most likely be on clearance after Christmas because nobody's gonna buy them with the expensive price they are going for. As you know American Girl has had doll series that completely failed because of low selling points. Take for example American Girl released a series of dolls called Girls Of Many Lands that featured girls from around the world in different stories and times but I got one of the books and as I read it I realized it was a rip-off of Dear America's Royal Diaries series but the Girls Of Many Lands doll series failed because people saw them as a display only doll and not to be played with. The same thing occurred when American Girl debuted the World By Us series and the dolls looked nice but the series was also a failure and I can't figure out how this series was made because every doll had a message like Save The Earth and People Care. The only successful lines American Girl has put a whole lot into is The American Girls Collection The Girl Of The Year series and the Bitty Baby series. And what could possibly be next for American Girl? Warner Bros outfits and dolls and Six Flags amusement park clothing?

I'm going to strongly disagree with you. These dolls will sell out. American Girl has been collaborating with Swarovski for a few years now. These dolls have sold very well. I bought last year's doll. She was a limited edition of 18,000. She sold out. These dolls are limited to 4,000 each AND they have the Disney label attached. I should not need to tell anybody here what Disney fans are like.

As far as what's next... it's a collaboration with the NFL.

I beg to differ. Unfortunately, Felicity does not have period correct underwear. She should have nothing but a long shift under her dress.

Ok, I don't collect for Felicity or have a interest in the 1770s so I don't know how accurate her collection is. There's always been some inaccuracies. Samantha's Christmas dress is very 1980s. I was just trying to illustrate why AG makes underwear when other companies don't bother with it at all.
