First can I get a woohoooo?! After almost 5 years, DD is showing an interest in dolls and asked for Kanani for Christmas. I have been littering the house with AG catalogs for 2 years.

So anyway, she tells me this the day after the free shipping promo is over. Since I am new to all of this, historically, have there been any other deals from now until Christmas? I know I will never see a blowout sale on the dolls but free shipping, 10% off - something - would be great.

I wouldn't expect any other deals on Kanani - free shipping or otherwise. In fact, I'd order her today if your DD is interested ... her stuff is starting to sell out & several items are on backorder.

On Cyber Monday, AG usually has some really good deals starting at midnight ... it's totally random stuff, but you can usually get an outfit or two for $12-$14 each. I would not expect anything Kanani specific at the event though ... she's sold too well.

I was at the AG store in Chicago and they still had her in stock (she is beautiful, BTW! My DD has her .) HOWEVER ... the "Girl of the Year" always sells out by Christmas. If you want her, get her now.

I also wanted to add that I recommend that you purchase the AG doll hair brush while you're at it. Regular human hair brushes will ruin the doll's hair.

Yes. Purchase Kanani and any of her clothing or accessories that you might want b/c more stuff will start to sell out.

If you are looking for a "deal" ... purchase 2 Kanani dolls, then sell the spare one on Feebay when Kanani sells out and last minute shoppers get desperate. Kidding, sort of ... people go crazy when the GOTY stuff sells out. Do a Feebay search for Kanani's shave ice stand ... it's sold out online and going for nearly $300 (originally cost $115).

Historically speaking, no, the last free shipping is usually the November one that has already gone by. There will be deals tomorrow- most definately NOT on anything Kanani. There will likely be good deals on some outfits that have been around a while and are on their way out.

As said, if she has her heart set on Kanani for sure, order sooner or later because she and her stuff will sell out.

I concur with the AG brush (or you can get a comparable wire wig brush at a beauty supply store for a little less.) Make sure it is used only on the doll, not on her own head.

FYI, you may end up wanting to keep the doll's hair in a braid a fair amount of the time because her hair is pretty long and one of the tougher ones for a little girl to keep looking good. (It's a quality wig and she won't mess up beyond something you can straighten out. My DD was just frustrated with Lanie's hair last year because she felt she "messed it up". So we keep it in braids most of the time now.)

They are in Wisconsin, so Central time zone.

And be prepared- it can get busy- system slow and items sell in your cart can sell out before you get through checkout... it's crazy. Log in with your info before midnight if you're going to stay up for it.

I have 2 daughters---both love American Girl dolls (the older one is not asking for one this year for Christmas---first time she hasn't asked since she was 3). Do not wait to order the doll---I would order her before the sale. She won't be on sale but there is a huge chance of her selling out. She is the Girl of the Year and others might be online purchasing sale items and decide to buy her, too. They do sell out. It happened to us one year.

I am going to the American Girl store on Thursday to get Marie Grace (the new one) for my youngest daughter. This is what she asked Santa to get (Santa only gives my children 1 present each).

We're also new to AG this year. DD has a My American girl doll, she hasn't gotten into the historical ones, yet. I'm still trying to decide if it will be worth staying up to get the sale. I would just be getting a couple of outfits is it worth it
