My daughters would really like an American Girl doll each! I know they have stores in the larger cities like New York but has anyone seen or bought one in Florida before?

They don't have a store in Florida but you can order them on line and get them shipped to you in florida. It very exensive to get shipped to the uk approx $70 per doll!

I think the shipping takes approx 5 days, I have only shipped items to a disney hotel and that's been fine. I have also stayed at a villa and had item shipped to the management company with permission from the villa owners.

I love the AG dolls, I can't wait until DD is old enough to go to one of the stores for dinner and all the works

I could spend a small fortune in AG and thats just for me!!!

My daughter (then 5) was kindly (LOL) introduced to AG by a man in a lift (yes really) at St Pete's in 2007. Has since become addicted. The first doll arrived for Christmas in 2007 and cost about £50 postage plus £40 vat and handling charge from the taxman and the post office combined. Turned a £70 doll into a £200 one!!! Since then we have tried to order our AG stuff from them to ship to WDW for our trips.

Make sure you phone their international department - haven't got their phone number handy but they have it on the website. Their service is amazing. They have bent over backwards for us every time and we have never had a bad experience.

The dolls are packaged beautifully and they ask that you have your order placed 10 days before if possible. If you have your WDW booking reference handy they place that on the package and the resort holds it for you. They usually charge a handling fee at WDW but it is something tiny like $7.

FYI if you are interested in the mini dolls be sure to check amazon. My daughter is now also a collector of these and she waits until they hit the £15 or less mark (with free postage) cheaper than buying them from AG direct and they are really cute.

oh we are soooo addicted to AG dolls, my DD8 has been collecting since she was 4 and now has 15 of the blooming things, we usually pay $45 for shipping for each doll, but then also get stung for around £30 import tax when the postman arrives although we have put in orders from family members when they have visited NYC. I would just love to take DD there to visit the AG store.

DD wants Rebecca for xmas, so seeing as we are at WDW in December, I'm going to order a week before we leave to get it delivered to the resort.... can also take advantage of the gift wrapping option if its being shipped within the US :

Didn't have a clue what this store was when we saw it in Chicago, I just saw loads of girls with bags! Thank goodness I have boys due to the price! However, when I was younger I would have loved one of these dolls, much cuter than Cabbage Patch Kids.

My daughter is also obsessed with AG dolls - got Emily (shes Emily too) for Xmas. She didnt ask for it whilst we were in Florida in october so got stung for the shipping costs to the UK. Was $70 plus £50 taxes for shipping doll, bed and some accessories. This year she is saving her money to get one whilst we're in Florida deliverred to hotel and will order another for her Christmas at same time.

If anyones got experience of doing that do you think its better to order before you go or wait till we're at resort. We'll be at different hotels in Disney over a 18 day period.
