I am sooo mad at my daughter, I went into her room today while she was at school, the dog was on her bed so I went in to pet her anyways, I see Elizabeth on her floor so I picked her up and was going to put her on the shelf. I thought she looked odd, so I asked my dh if it was just me or was her hair shorter. He said I wasn't crazy. So I grabbed her other doll and put them in my room. When she got home I asked her about it. she said she didn't cut her hair. I gave her 3 chances to tell me the truth, then I called her out. She said her hair was uneven. She did do a good job and it looks cute, she left it midback.I found the dolls hair in a small american girl bag not even hiding. And have been looking for my scissors which I found under her bed.
I am so upset at her for lying. And the dolls I want to have them re-headed and sell them. I just don't get it. I am just so glad I didn't get her one for Christmas. I feel like she just don't appreciate it.
Thank you for letting me vent.
She is 11. I came to the conclusion that they are her dolls and if she wants to shave it bald and write on it with sharpies that's her business. I wont buy one for her anytime soon. I did put it into perspective that Dad or grandpa would have to work so many hours to buy another one. I just dont want her to not appreciate what she has, they are not cheap dolls and if I fixed it would only make it worse. As for lying... I'm thinking no tv or cell phone.

I can't even keep track of what stuff is from dd13, who handed the dolls down to dd6 and dd8. Who care if the doll is missing a boot - they don't actually walk.
All of the clothes are in bins in their room (or under the bed, under the dresser, in the living room toy bin, under the coach...). I gave up organization 4 kids ago, and we just get by. However, if you lose it, I'm certainly not replacing it. I can't even tell you how many childrens' shoes are hiding in this home...

but we won't go there right now... even so, I still assume whenever we buy a new doll that we'll likely replace the head eventually b/c brushing makes the hair very dry. IMO, if DD cut it, then DD would be playing with the doll as-is until we were ready to replace the head a few years down the road. It doesn't appear to bother the children nearly as much as the parents and who is the doll really for anyway??
