American Girl discounts? Black Friday?

I know that there is a deal right now on the new dolls, but does anyone know of any other deals (disocunt codes, etc) of their older dolls or any hints as to what might go on sale for Black Friday? Thanks!

I asked my store manager, she said "no. Since their customer are little girl. They not happy about little standing in line early in the morning." I understand that fact their target market is little girls, but it's the parents who going to be standing in line. I dont think anyone would get their kids to stand in line with them.

Historically, no, they don't do anything on BF. They do a Cyber Monday sale on select items only.

I don't think it's what the PP was asking, but I've been to an AG store on BF and there is nothing special going on for sales/etc.

As said- their big deals come the next week on Cyber Monday. To my knowledge though, it has never been dolls, just "stuff" (and usually older stuff that you later find out they are discontinuing.)

I can't think of another time dolls have ever been discounted as the Marie-Grace and Cecile ones currently are. Sometimes there are packages- save X if you buy doll and these particular outfits, but not a flat 25% on everything in a collection. I guess those two aren't selling well (which makes me a little sad for the future of the historical collections...)

You'd be surprised what age kids people will bring with them to Black Friday sales. I've seen too many people to count in line at 3am in the rain and 30 degree weather with newborns on up. I thought about offering babysitting instead of shopping. I might have missed out on saving a couple of bucks but I bet I could have made a ton for as many kids as I saw in line the last few years. We now have a AG store in our area and people were lined up with their kids, and dolls, a good day or so before opening. Even then there wasn't a sale going on.

We're pretty new to the whole American Girl thing. I didn't want to go anywhere near it to start with but DD changed my mind. She has Josefina and I fell in love with the historical doll line. They don't have a doll that looks anything like DD, so we went with the one that did, Josefina. The books are amazingly well written and are very fun to read. I was very surprised to see them offer then entire new historical collection at a discount. From my understanding this has never happened before? They just finished up having a free shipping special going, and last year for Cyber Monday they had a few clothing and other not so high selling items on sale, but other than that I have never seen anything on sale. Aside from spend your mortgage get a free charm type of thing.

No I don't think so you can always check ebay or something like that if you want a cheap one.
