My dd (6) has her heart set on a "Kit" American Girl doll for Christmas. Do they ever have any deals on American Girl stuff....even the ebay ones are pretty high. ??

I don't think the dolls go on sale, but they usually offer free shipping in October sometime.

QVC has a AG TSV once a year might be coming up soon. They also have some nice Doll "Bundles" that save a little.

There was a thread here a couple of weeks ago saying that QVC was not having a AG TSC this year. Free shipping is the only other deal I've seen. OP, if you get the Kit doll and want more clothes, check out Target and Walmart. Their brands all fit the AG dolls at a fraction of the price. Look at Craigslist as well. Might get a bargain on the doll and accessories.

I have never seen the dolls on sale. If you check the web site every Monday they have new sales for that week they also have a last chance sale I saw the outfit for kit that your child wears on sale for a very good price I actually bought it for my oldest for christmas.
On black Friday the usually have free shipping. Good luck!

This won't help you for this Christmas, but the best place to find AG dolls on sale is at the AG warehouse sale in Middleton, WI. It is held in July and it is a timed entry, ticketed event (through the Madison, WI Children's Museum). The dolls run about $65 at the sale.

Thanks...we have a bunch of clothes as my oldest daughter has Emily and Elizabeth dolls and has accumulated quite a stash of clothes, plus I can sew them. The doll is just so darn expensive and I HATE paying full price for anything. LOL!

I scored some pretty good deals on outfits on Cyber Monday last year, but no free shipping and no doll deals :-(

Well it's to late for this, but sometimes you can find AG dolls and clothes on garage sailing for extreamly cheep. Also try craigslist, sometimes you'll get lucky.

I found a brand new (in the box) AG at Goodwill for $20. If you look around, you can find good deals!

I just got bedding, hair styling kit, Julie's accessories, and 2 pairs of shoes for $4 at a garage sale in town. No dolls, but we are happy. I still have Julie to give my DD that I picked up at QVC a while back, so that's her big Xmas present. I bought extra back when they were selling them, just in case. We were missing the accessories, though.

Wow..that's awesome! I wish I'd stumble across stuff like at sales. I'm in Michigan and it's starting to get colder out so not too many garage sales around anymore :-

I was wondering the same thing. My dd8 has been bitten by th American Girl bug, and I have explained several times that if that is what she wants for her birthday, that is ALL she is getting for her birthday.
It actually works out pretty well. Her birthday falls during Christmas break, so we have never had more than 3 in attendance. Poor dd is always sad by the low turnout, so instead of a party this year, she wants to have a special mommy/ daughter date to the American Girl store in LA to pick up her new friend. I am SO excited, and it is still 3 months away!

That sounds like a lovely birthday for your DD! I took my DD to NYC and we had a great time. :goodvibes

I have always had awesome luck at consignment shops
I have gotten Kit's roll top desk for $35, Nellie doll that looks like it sat on a shelf and never played with for $65, and tons of clothes between $8-$12 depending on the outfit/accessories. I'd call around, I've done well with it.
Good Luck! And Kit is my daughter's absolute FAVORITE too lol.

You sound like us!!! Parties are so expensive and during January the weather is so unpredictable, a blizzard during a planned and paid birthday somewhere would upset me greatly. So for the past 2 years we chose a day around DD's birthday where it wasn't freezing, let her take the day off from school, head ingot NYC and have lunch @ AG and let her pick out a doll. I am so upset, she doesn't want to do it this year :( She'd rather go to the crayola factory but I think she is going to be let down and I am not even sure what the hours will be in January.

Both of the new historical girls, Cécile & Marie-Grace (and accessories) are on sale 25% off! I wasn't planning to get these for DD, but now I'm really tempted. She would be on :cloud9: if she unwrapped these on Christmas morning. The email I got says the sale lasts through the 13th, so I think I'll sleep on it.

Has anyone read the books & or know the story line?

:goodvibes
