American Girl/Bath and Body Works Items

Does anyone know why the American Girl line of products from Bath and Body Works is being discontinued? Does AG plan on replacing it with something else? My girls LOVE the perfumes, lotions, lip glosses, etc. and I was so disappointed when I went to B&BW yesterday to find it was discontinued.
I can only hope for something new, otherwise, need to find a substitue for stocking stuffers, bdays, etc. that they will love! Any info/ideas???

I don't know why, and when they were clearanced out the girls at BBW just said they weren't going to carry the line anymore. I'm disappointed too, my dd really liked having her "own" beauty products, and i thought they were perfect for her, not too grown. I stocked up when they had their big sale so we are set for this Christmas. If you are really desperate you could try ebay.

Don't know if this is the same thing, but the AG website has bath and body products on sale 50% off.

AG was probably a license to BBW and either wasn't renewed (by either party, no blame!) or the two parties have mutually agreed not to continue the relationship.

AG may want to expand to other outlets and their agreement with BBW doesn't allow that so there could be some business decisions going on.

OR it could be that AG is going to re-do all their products and needs to get rid of all this stuff before coming out with their new things -- just in time for holiday gift giving!

According to my store- *(and what do they know) They said the relationship has ended. But that B&BW was working on a children's line of stuff. If American girl comes out with new stuff and sells it themselves I'm sure it'll be more $$$. Too bad my daughter loved that apple shampoo. I was able to score a couple of the moisturizers for $4 that were "in the back"

Thanks so much! I checked it out, and they had some nice things, but I was looking specifically for the Truly Me perfume, which my DD says is "her scent".

I hope they are preparing for a whole new line in one way or another, we loved all the products like combs, mirrors, brushes, purses in addition to the toiletries and scents.

I'm a manager for BBW and a mutual agreement was made between American Girl and BBW to discontinue the line. I've also heard that the company has some plans for a new product line for young ladies. Keep checking in and asking. We haven't had our preview to holiday meeting yet, so I don't know if anything will be out in time for the holidays.

Same here. The AG products smelled soo good. My favorite was Apple too. It stinks how the line is ending, that was the one product that smelled nice and light.

The relationship has ended, but different stores have varying amounts left of product. I still have a full cabinet of apple shampoo/cond., Truly Me Perfume, etc and some kits. They are all 50 % off.

My understanding is we will carry a "Signature Collection" for kids, not just girls. But as a previous poster mentioned, we haven't had our Holiday Meeting preview yet, so we'll see. I hope it will be out in time for Holiday!

The line will debut either 10/13/08 or 10/14/08! I have no idea what it will include, but I can't wait to find out!
