american food

We had Churros at Universal Islands of Adventure in late 2005.

Mmmmmmm...... Reeses!

If you like cheesecake you MUST go to the Cheesecake Factory at Mall at Millenia - they have about 90 different flavours and the sandwiches are really good too.

Key Lime Pie! ummmm
Kids love Fruit Loops cereal (very sugary, but ok for once in a while)
Root Beer - find an A&W and they serve it chilled in a glass, can't beat it.. and if you like it you can buy it in the supermarkets.
Lays potato chips and loads of dips!
See if you can find a Sloppy Joe!!!
A banana split from Dairy Queen
A loaf of american bread... its so much sweeter than ours!
Be adventurous, if you like the look of it, try it!!!

Cinnabon is a must but they are huge so you are better sharing one, Wild Cherry Pepsi, funnel cake, a smoked turkey leg in the parks (just to say you have had one), Key Lime Pie, frozen lemonade :)

How come any conversation about Orlando very quickly turns to food.....

Onion soup at Outback,
Smoked turkey legs,
Shrimp
Funnel Cakes, Funnel cakes and funnel cakes...

Like shoes you can never have to much funnel cake, also churros, jolly ranchers (boiled sweets) particularly melon flavour. Skippy peanut butter - v. expensive in the U.K, but Aldi do one called Toppy exactly the same but only 65-70p

The Kobe Steakhouse is basically a Teppanyaki that does have an "American Kobe Steak" on the menu (so not the authentic Japanese one, but not bad...). Husband and I had the Kobe steak when we went, it was a quite a bit more expensive than the normal steak ($45/$50 for the whole meal per person, I think), but it was interesting. Kobe steak is much more marbled with fat than normal beef, but the marbling is very fine grain - so it adds taste and an almost "crunchy" texture without being overpowering. It was definitely different to a normal steak - we liked it.

Those ice cream cookie sandwiches. Ice cream sandwiched in between 2 sickly sweet cookies that you get from the ice cream vendors inside the parks.
Ponderosa breakfasts...3 plates of fry up and cereal cakes and whippy ice cream to finish off with...sets you up for a day at the parks!!

I didn't mind the beverley, was quite a change from the sugar charged stuff I'd been drinking. I loved the watermelon flavoured drink...can't remember what it was called.
My favourites had to be the Hungry man platter at Perkins, Ponderosa all you can eat, the Cinderella Evening meal at 1900 Park Fair, and the waffle and icecream thing (I really can't remember what it was called) in Typhoon Lagoon.

Has to be raisin bran for me. I love it. Plan to get some for breakfast when we go with lil bowls so we can eat in the room on early mornings.
