American Express Trav Chq Card Cash Back?

We got our American Express Travellers Cheque card a couple of months ago. Does any body know if you can get "cash back" from a counter when you pay for goods or food like you can here? Is there a charge for this? Was trying to avoid having to go to cash machine.

I don't think so - we've used ours many times, and no-one has ever asked if we want cashback. I've never read anything about it to suggest cashback is an option either.

I know it's obvious, but I would just draw out a larger amount of cash once, so that you avoid paying the withdrawal fee again and again.
