It is a very small room, I wish they would move to a bigger location with more seating and more bathrooms. Right now it is nothing to write home about. Sine they are partnered up with AMEX I would think it would get better.
I think we are in the minority here. But my family and I thought it was a great little break from the heat. We had eaten a large breakfast at the hotel and were not extremely hungry. We stopped in around 3pm and we had chips, granola bars and water. Perfect to hold us over till dinner. We hung about for about 45 minutes. I agree the room is small.
But that requires walking all the way back, at least to the boats.
When we upgraded DH and DS to APs in September, my receipt shows that we have access to the lounge until something like April. I carry that receipt with my APs so I don't forget it!
The Amex lounge is located by the Monsters Cafe at Universal Studios. Also, from what I understand this lounge is only open through May? Offer is available through May 15, 2012.
As for the AmEx parade viewing area, that is in front of the Terminator attraction (arrive 15 minutes before)
If you want to meet a real AmEx balloon handler then go between Twister and the Universal Musical Plaza about an hour and a half before the parade!
Anyone who purchased a multi-day and/or one with park-to-park access. Now, you must purchase the ticket with ANY AmEx card. Just ask for a receipt for your tickets and you can enter the lounge.
I have an AMEX card and wasn't aware of this. We're going in April, so I'm glad I saw this thread. Now to remember to purchase our tickets with the AMEX card.
