American Express Discounts at DL?

We are so excited! Just found out that we'll be going down to DL in mid-Sept. with brother-in-law and his family. I remember in the past that if you paid using your AMEX card at some of the Disney merchandise stores and certain restaurants at DL, you'd get a 10% discount. I called AMEX to query this twice and I got 2 different answers. Can anyone out there give me the scoop?
