I LOVE this show!! It was a particularly good episode tonight. Great music!! Does anyone else watch this show?

I love that show, too. I'm going to be traumatized if they don't renew it. I thought tonight's episode was really good, too.

My roommates and I watch this show religiously. It is such a wonderful story with very real characters. My heart breaks for Meg sometimes...and now for a few of the other characters as well. I have heard that NBC has already picked it up for next season.

After American Dreams we tune into Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye on PAX. Anybody out there watch that one as well?

Linda

I just love American Dreams.. I admit I'm biased because our family friend's cousin, Tom Verica, plays Jack, hehe. But still, it's just a great family show, perfect balance of fun and drama.

I love American Dreams Too. I get very upset if I miss it (which I did once this season, tried to tape it, but fouled up the vcr settings). I thought last night's episode was great as well.

Haven't missed an episode myself, love that show.

NBC makes the best drama's.

Another fan here. I love how they stay true to the time period.

Our family watches this show every week. It brings back so many wonderful memories. Not just for the time period and the music (DH and I grew up in that period -- we were JJ's age), but because we lived in the Allentown/Philadelphia, PA area where the story takes place. And my DH is a graduate of Temple University!

They often refer to familiar schools, locations, food, etc. In fact, the waitress that JJ sometimes dates (can't remember her name) said on one episode that she was from Allentown! I even knew someone once who was on American Bandstand as a regular dancer.

Also, the actress who plays Meg is from Tampa, where we live now.

It's a wonderful show and we also hope they renew it!

I love the show! On Sunday nights, I put the kids to be just before it starts so I can have complete quiet time to watch without any interruptions.

Lived it as a child--love it as an adult! :D

Sometimes I believe the history is made a little simplistic--wasn't quite so simple if you lived in the day. Things weren't just black and white--there was a lot of gray, confusion, and blindness to the reality of the time.

Love the music though and I think the writers are trying to capture all sides of the various cultural issues. For the most part, I think they do a pretty good job. The one thing I think the show gets just right is the sense of change that was coming--I just don't think most people at the time were aware of it.

Another big fan of the show! DH & I never miss it! It has a very familiar feel to it. My sister & her husband love it too and they don't watch much TV. They like to pick apart the little inconsistancies - like my BIL says - "that song didn't come out until months later" - my sis objects to Meg's hair - says that it's not the way 15 year-old girls wore their hair - we looked back at yearbooks for the time - & she's right. (some people just over-analyze some stuff!)

Me Too! I am a very big fan. I have never missed an episode. Sunday nights are my favorite. DH tapes it for me while I am at work, and after everyone is asleep, I get to watch it and enjoy it completely. I loved last nights episode, just sad for Meg. I loved JJ's story line. Ahhh, to be young again...

I love this show too!!!!

I feel that it is my personal mission to try and convince everyone I know to watch American Dreams and Alias. Sundays are right up there with Thursdays as my favorite night on TV. However, Alias, American Dreams and Dragnet (my other Sunday show) aren't doing so well in the ratings, so lets get the word out so these high-quality shows don't get cancelled

In the summer of 64, I was between 7th and 8th grade. I remember all the great music they play. I think in last night's episode, the music was perfect for what was going on.

I agree with the statement about Meg's hair. Nobody wore that style. However, most everything else is right on target, from the clothes and the dances to the tableware. Did anyone else notice those plastic glass that had the rattan weaving inside the plastic? They were shown when they ate dinner at the picnic table. I remember those well. And I think we ALL knew girls like Meg's "new" friends. LOL!!
What a great show!

Sandy

Like the show a lot. When i first saw it previewed in the fall, i was a little ifey. Didn't think the show would do that well either and it seems to be a big hit. I think a big part of it is the big name musical guests and such. It's quite a fun show and the character development is great.
