American Airlines?

So American Airlines' flights are much less expensive than United (flying Burlington, VT to Orlando). Has anyone had experience flying with them (and on this flight specifically)? Thank you!

I haven't done that route specifically but I have flown AA many times. My issue with them is they always seem to have a delay. If it's a non-stop flight then I have no problem. They aren't my favorite airline but they are usually fine.

I have over a million miles on AA. They're fine.

And if they overbook, they will let you walk off the aircraft instead of breaking your nose and dragging you off.

Seriously...excellent airline. If you can book an early morning direct flight, you will have much less likelihood of serious delays. Not sure if that is possible from Burlington.

I haven't flown that route, but I've flown all over the world with AA. Sometimes have delays. They sometimes have schedule changes. All airlines have those issues, so I'd say they're as good as any other and better than some.

I always recommend either AA or Delta, depending on the route, how many stops you have to make and the cost of the ticket.

If you live in Burlington you probably know that there aren't all that many flights out of Burlington, but AA has a decent number of them, maybe even more than United. AA will fly you to one of their hubs: Philadelphia, Washington DC, or there is one flight to Charlotte. Once you get to any of those hubs there are lots of flights to MCO, so if you miss your connection there is a decent chance they can find you another one. Obviously going back to BTV is more of a luck of the draw kind of thing.

I've flown in and out of Burlington, all on AA, a lot. Always made it to my destination the same day. My daughter went to school there, and flew United a lot. Her United flights gave me a lot of grey hair, and she spent a few nights in airports trying to get into or out of BTV. Weather in BTV is seldom an issue, but BTV is not a popular destination, so flights in and out of there get cancelled, and from our experience United seemed more prone to do that than AA.

Also, going back to Vermont on AA, don't fly through Charlotte (CLT). There is only one non-stop to BTV from CLT, and if it gets cancelled you will be stuck in Charlotte until the next morning. Flying through Washington DC (DCA) or Philadelphia will get you more options in case your plane doesn't fly.

Not that route, but I flew them last year from PHL to MCO. It was fine.

We fly AA fairly often and knock wood have never had an issue with delays or cancelations. Keep an eye on your flight and seat assignments as they tend to change aircraft and if the seating on the new aircraft isn't exactly the same your seats can change.

We've flown AA many times and it's a perfectly fine airline. I don't always find their fares to be the most reasonable, but otherwise I have no complaints.
