How does AA load their planes? From the back 1st or from the front? Considering switching from United and wondering about seat request.

Thanks Mky princess:

Last time I flew them, I believe that they loaded from the back. Most airlines do, although some are going to a kooky method of loading window seats, then middle, then aisle. Good luck getting overhead space if you have an aisle seat.

Passenger loading order on domestic 2-class American Airlines flights:

1. First Class
2. AAdvantage Platinum and Executive Platinum
3. Group 1 (AAdvantage Gold)
4. Group 2 (rear of economy cabin)
5. Group 3 (rear middle of economy cabin)
6. Group 4 (front middle of economy cabin)
7. Group 5 (front of economy cabin)

The number of groups can vary depending on the aircraft and the passenger load.
