It seems to be inching closer -- AA brass is "supposed" to have a meeting on Monday, and the formal announcement could come as early as next week.

Too early to tell what impact, if any, it will have on flight schedules, etc.

No, it's not.

If you currently hold a ticket on either airline this will NOT impact your schedule. It will take more then a year to do "merge" these two airlines. You can announce anything you want... you then have to deal with the US goverment and your shareholders. Until both of those of those agree the two airlines can't even TALK about things like "schedules" etc... (It's called antitrust law)

And even once they get approval, they then have to merge the operating licenses etc.. took Delta well over a year to do that with NWA. Took SW about that long to really get control of Air Tran..

Panic is not needed.

If you have a ticket a year from now will your schedule change? SURE, but it would have changed even if these two never ever talked.....:scratchin

Where is the super, duper like button, nothing more to add here.

It will probably be a long merger, US has not yet combined contracts for pilots and flight attendants from the America West merger in 2005. They are still flying internally as 2 airlines, east and west crews.
