Hi
Has anyone any experience of flying with AA?

Trying to plan Oct halfterm (22nd to 30th/31st) flying from Manchester for the least amount possible! Very happy to go indirect and AA seem to have the best prices at the moment.

Never been with them and am unsure whether to book or wait and see what happens with other indirect fares closer to the time. Thanks! :)

WE have flown with them and really liked the fact that the widths and pitch are much larger than british airlines. also we had the best airline food we have ever had, pizza and the kids loved it.:thumbsup2

I've never flown to Orlando with AA, but I have flown to Los Angeles from the UK on a number of occasions. I would say AA are usually my first choice. There is slightly more leg room (not that you ever really notice these things when the difference is so slight), but the service has always been fine.

Used AA twice for Orlando and once for West coast, flew from Man to Vegas, vegas to Los Angeles then back to Man.
All good flights.
Booked with them again for May half term.
If I were you I would wait for there next sale, they have had at least 2 since Xmas. Our flights for May were reduced to £322pp now up at £634pp

Last Oct half term I only paid £240 (NWA from Heathrow) its usually a good school hol to get low prices but you have to patient.

Yep; flew with them last year (although I flew into Nashville and home from MCO).

Planes are old but the transatlantic ones are fine. Inflight entertainment is pretty good. Food was the best I've had on a plane on the outward flight and the worst on the return :confused3

Internal flights are shoddy but almost all internal flights are. The staff are nice enough.

Got our flights for the Easter holidays for £350 return (change in Miami) so can't beat that :thumbsup2

Cattle class is one and the same no matter who you fly with; what makes it bearable is knowing you got a bargain.

Thanks very much to all for your replies - v.useful.

Based on your experiences and having found flights with AA for a price I was happy with (£361pp) I decided to get it done and book - and this am those prices have disappeared! Now a total of £300 more!!! (Kicks self for faffing around...)

So I guess I'll have to wait and see (I don't really do patient Wayne!) and hope for a sale. :thumbsup2

They will be back again, probably cheaper, I would have a limit of £350pp for the dates you want. for indirect there is so much competition and they are not selling, prices will be low all this year IMO.

Thanks Wayne, I'll keep watching! Back away from the credit card Karen ::yes:: ...

Have flown with AA several times, generally Manchester to Chicago then on to Denver, but have also done Chicago to Orlando.

The 767 out of Manchester isn't bad in economy, especially if there's only 2 of you and you can get the 2 seats together either side rather than being in the middle. I like the fact you can see which seats are available online before you even book, then choose and even swap around once you have booked.

No seatback TVs and I can't usually see the overhead screens, so entertainment isn't up to much. But I like the crew - seem to be a wider age range than on UK carriers, no messing with them, confident they could deal with any eventuality rather than running away on their high heels!

Food is okay. You always get pizza as the second meal when you head into Chicago!

We've had a few delays due to weather but AA have been very good at getting us to our destination as quickly as possible. On one occasion by the time we arrived in Chicago they had re-booked us on another airline. On another, when we checked in at Denver they had already moved us to an earlier flight because our original one wouldn't make the connection. And once when arriving in Chicago on the way home, thinking we had missed the connection, someone was waiting at the gate to direct us straight onto the Manchester flight which was being held for us. (In fact it was the aircraft right next door, but we think that must have been a coincidence!)

We'd happily always fly with them but sometimes we need direct flights that they don't offer.

We have only flown internally with them......Miami-Orlando-Miami...great flight and nice flight attendants.....on the way back we were upgraded to First...it was nice to experience it if only it was for an hour.

we flew internally with them orlando-miami- cancun- miami and I would not fly with them again.

On they was from cancun to miami half the plane was already full with non english speaking mexican refugees and we had seats smack in the middle of them and they were sitting in our seats and would not move at all. The crew were rubbish and just told us to sit where ever we could find a spare seat!!

We were on our honeymoon and this was not acceptable and the mexicans just pushed and shoved us and the crew stood back and watched!! in the end it took the pilot to sort it out and we sat in row a with the front crew being a lot better than the crew located at the back of the plane.

I know this is not AA's fault but its put me off complletely

Flown once with AA for an internal flight, had no problems at all. I would use them again

Another 4 day sale starts today but only upto 31st June.

Anyone looking for May half term our flights talked about in post #4 (went upto £634) are back down to £328 in the latest sale. From £305 same dates from London.
