I couldn't find a post about this show. I can't believe how the show went last night. I thought the 2 very best acts got sent home, the magician guy and the group who did the electric sparks.

OMG, I couldn't believe the fire/magician got sent home!
I don't think the judges got that either.
It sounds like they were trying to figure it out and justify it.

While ArcAttack, and what they do, are extremely awesome...
I don't think that it really comes across on the TV screen.
I think what sent them home is that they went all 'freakazoid', with the one girl remaining so WIERD and not breaking character, even well after their act, and even after the judging... They just didn't give anything positive for anyone to identify with and want to see again. What they do is AMAZING... but they began to come off as freaks.

I had wondered if His Royal Highness Mr. Prince Poppycock (after last weeks perfomance) could continue to up the ante and deliver fresh and improved material... OMG, did he ever!!!

Still lots of good talent to compete in the second half of the semi-finals next week too...

Yeah, I don't think it comes across on TV like it would in person, but since the prize is for a Vegas show, they seemed like they would fit right in! :confused3

I thought the fire/magician guy was just OK. (*ducks*...LOL sorry!) I thought Michael Grasso and Murray were more impressive magicians, I mean a TIGER vs escaping... ;)

Can't wait to see how it all ends! This is my first year watching it.

I will say those little boy Future Funk were so darn cute. They weren't ready for the big time.

I'm not crazy about the kids that dance, I agree with Howie I find it a little creepy

I was upset the magician left, but I am THRILLED Michael Grimm and Prince Poppycock made it! I will be happy if either one of them win:goodvibes

I was impressed to a point with Arcattack, but as others have said, it didn't translate as well on tv. I also think that while it is an interesting act, there is just so much you can do with bouncing electricity around. I could see it getting old after about 10 minutes....I definitely couldn't see it as a headline in Vegas. JMHO

The magician was a hack. First he does a trick a week after another magician does it then does an act for the finals that I could do. For goodness sake he walked through that box thing when he came in and simply walked back through it off stage and down the stairs.:confused3 As a Las Vegas native I'm here to tell you he'd never be able to carry a Vegas show. That said as much as I couldn't stand him he was better then the girls and kite flying kid. They are purely sympathy votes.

Now Prince Poppycock that's a Vegas show! Boyfriend knows how to work it. Even if he doesn't win he'll be here eventually.

I'm loving Micheal Grimm but was surprised the Taylor kid got in. However the acts were pretty bad the night before aside from Prince Poppycock, Anna and Patryk and Micheal Grimm.

I think the little girl from youtube might sweep things in the end which is unfair IMHO. She didn't have to go through all the stages to get there.

We weren't surprised by anyone who didn't make it through. I don't think Arcattack or whatever their name is...I don't think their "talent" translates well to tv. DH and I kept saying, we don't understand what people like about them. We thought they were boring. And I agree with the Poster who said the magician with the flames was a hack. His tricks take FAR too long for anything to happen and when it finally comes to fruition, it's not exciting or shocking.

When they brought out the 3 male singers I turned to DH and said "They're all going through"

It is a CRIME that Arcattack went home. Maybe the act didn't look as impressive on tv, but htey aren't vying for a TV contract. I would pay big bucks to see them in Vegas. For now, I am hoping for a win for Murray, Prince Poppycock or Fighting Gravity.

ALL of them I would pay to see a show in Vegas.

I stopped watching the show when the little guy from Puerto Rico I believe, got sent home in the preliminary, he was AWESOME! Now, tell me WTH is Prince Poppycock going to do for a Vegas show?:confused3:confused3 I am sick of all the singers and was hoping for a Magic Act to be sent ALL THE WAY!:woohoo: But, I guess NOT!:headache::mad:

I was shocked ArcAttack didn't make it. True their act doesn't translate well on TV but it was very interesting. And I would pay to see them in Vegas. HRH Prince Poppycock...now there is a a performer made for the stage. I love his performances and how he gets into the character of it all and never drops it. Though I will be honest, Michael Grimm is my favorite this season. He has true vocal talent. It is hard to sing with that much soul and he does it with ease. Add to that he is a very good guitar player and I hope there are record labels watching him.

As for the others...Taylor Matthews I think is boring but he has the teen vote. Christina and Ali...I am meh about them. Cute girls but they can't stay in tune. Anna and Patryk are very talented dancers however for ballroom dance I prefer to watch adults.

As far as that Youtube girl goes. Don't like her...she is forcing her voice too much and if she is not careful she will burn it out quick. Trust me I took voice lessons with a superbly trained opera singer in high school and while I am not opera quality in my voice I know what to listen for.

I am guessing it will be Prince Poppycock all the way.

There's still a magician in the running.

Prince Poppycock isn't just a singer he's a Showman, there's a difference. Think along the lines of Bette Midler and the Hartlettes. He's got flamboyance, add some flamboyant royal subjects and you have a Vegas show, one people will pay to see.

I was surprised that ArcAttack went home too. We thought they were pretty cool.

I am happy that Michael Grimm and Prince Poppycock got through. They were my favorites of the night.

It really frustrates me that so many singers make it to the finals every year... no offense, but there are plenty of singing competition reality shows. I would much rather watch the acts than one singer after another.
But not the dancing kids, I agree (and so does my DH) it is creepy on so many levels! Yes they are talented, and in another 5 years it won't be so creepy when she actually has something to shake. And aren't they brother and sister? That is creepy on a whole new playing field.
there is no one this year that I am cheering for, like I was the year that Nothing But Strings was on. (but got voted out and the finals were all singers....grrrrr!)

No they are not related and have not always danced together.

My husband and daughter are avid fans of AGT :) I still chuckle when I think of my husband watching this show; the only other things he watches are crime dramas and football

He and DD are both rooting for Prince Poppycock. He was disappointed in ArcAttack leaving, and said that the magician wasn't nearly as good this time as he was with the floss trick that scared the crap out of Howie. I just kinda nod and smile... :goodvibes

What I love about Prince Poppycock is that while he is not the best opera singer out there, he has had obvious training thought, he knows how to entertain a crowd. The person underneath if you have watched interviews is rather quiet and unassuming. But put him in a costume, powdered wig, white face makeup and killer heels and he becomes something else. And it is fun to watch.

Something needs to be done with the show. Cristina and Ali, and Taylor, making the top 10 is absolutely laughable! If those two acts are America's Top 10 talent, America has some serious, serious problems.

And you can pretty much assume that Alice, the little opera girl, and Deborah Romer will make the top 5. That leaves 2 spots for truly deserving acts (most likely Murray and Fighting Gravity).

That means we're all gonna have to listen to 7 singers in the Final 10. Terrible! This show is becoming a poor man's American Idol, and AI is already poor.
