ambien...dizzy dizzy

I have had a script for Ambien for sometime. I take it occasionally now. I learned very quickly that the full 10mg dose is way too much for me. I had no memory of anything I didn within minutes of taking the drug....I tried cutting the pill in half and then fourths to avoid the amnesia effect. I found that only 1/4 of a tab works fine. I was taking them fairly regurely and weaned off very slowly....to just when I have a bout of insomina

Guys, you REALLY shouldn't take hypnotics (including Ambien) for anything more than two weeks; in fact, one week is pushing it. Take it for longer and it becomes increasingly ineffective and can become addictive; any ongoing effect will mostly be placæbo.

This is for anyone who can offer advice on how to stop taking Ambien. I have been on it (10 mg) for 6 months but really need to stop. It effects my memory and also even when I sleep, I wake up alot and feel like I still have not gotten any sleep at all....so really it is not worth it. I read to start taking 3/4 for a few nights, then down to a 1/2 and eventually a 1/4 pill. Has anyone tried this with success?

Do that then decide a night to stop. Put you little piece of a pill on the nightstand with a cup of water and try to go to sleep. If after 5 minutes you are not asleep take the pill. Next night same thing but wait 10 minutes of trying to fall asleep. then take the pill. No anxiety because you know you can have the pill, you just have to wait 10 minutes trying to go to sleep. Next night 15, then 20 and so on. I don't think you'll ever see 15 minutes.:)
