Amber alert in Kentucky-Baby was found

Our local news just came on with a story about a baby who was stolen from a hospital in Stanford, Kentucky. The baby girl, Gracie, was born yesterday afternoon. Apparently, there was a part time nurse's assistant who came into the room & told the mother she needed to take the baby back to the nursery. She then, allegedly, left the hospital. They found the nurse's assistant, but no baby. I cannot imagine what the parents must be going through. The area where it happened is a very rural area & I am sure the hospitals don't have very good security.

I am surprised that there weren't better security measures in place so that could not happen. Maybe the assistant knew how to circumvent them.

Praying for the baby's safe return. Her family must be devastated.

Oh Wow! That's just 20 minutes from where I live! It's hard to believe how someone could do this. I just don't understand. You are right about the security being light because the town of Stanford is not very big. I would never have thought that would happen! I hope and pray they find the baby quickly!

I'm watching the news now & they think the police have found the baby. No official word yet, but there is supposed to be an official statement this afternoon. They are reporting that the baby was found in an alleyway in Bowling Green, KY & she is still alive. A lady was walking her dog & came upon the baby. She took her to the hospital.

They just did a report on the nurse's assistant who took the baby. Apparently, she lives in Lexington & recently worked at the Kroger grocery store where I shop.

Good News! They have confirmed that the baby that was found in Bowling Green, KY earlier today is the baby that was stolen early this morning. They haven't released her condition, there is going to be an official statement given at 3pm today.

I live in Bowling Green and was just watching this on the news. The baby was found here and was rushed to Kosair Children's hopital in Louisville because of a pre-existing breathing problem. They just reported the baby is stable and she has been reunited with her parents. Praise God.

There are some really disturbing people in this world. To take the baby, and then just leave it? If you were messed up enough to steal a baby, isn't there usualy a pourpose? Not just to leave it.
