Amazon Prime

LOVE IT!! We went with a Kindle Fire over another tablet for DD's birthday specifically because of the free movies/shows that we get through Prime.

:thumbsup2 I absolutely love Amazon Prime for the shipping. I use it all of the time & it does both spoil you and change the way that you shop.

It is also great if you have a student away from home. Textbooks, gifts, whatever, just send it to them directly to the school & it gets there fast!

We even got a Roku box to take advantage of the free video streaming on TV & it seems like that alone would be worth it! Double score!

I recently downloaded the Kindle app on my iPad & even though I can't borrow books, I can download more than I could ever read for free. Score again!

Did I say I LOVE Amazon Prime :lmao:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Just remembered, we do subscribe & save and I think we get it cheaper being prime (maybe not) We have a child with special needs that uses GoodNights and those are on auto delivery, plus we buy baby wipes for hands/faces and the 3 month shipment lasts us perfectly.

We've purchased food items, personal care items, you name it, I've bought it on Amazon.

I had it for a year free (student version) and really, really loved teh 2 day shipping. I haven't talked myself into paying for it yet, but I keep thinking about it. We live way out in the sticks, and I can get about anything I need off Amazon.

I ordered something that my husband needed for the boat (only about $8), and he mentioned it to his brother. BIL said something to the effect that you could have gotten it at Walmart for $10 - $12. DH told him it cost about $8. When BIL said something about paying shipping and the timeframe, DH told him, "No, no shipping, was here the next day, and we didn't have to make a 30 mile round trip into town." :thumbsup2

Yes..I have it and it's great..I just got a ROKU and now have to figure that out to see if the streaming movies thing will work.

I have Prime, and absolutely love it. Free, fast shipping makes it totally worth the price.

I just downloaded the video player for my iPad, and have been watching tv on the iPad when I can't find anything to watch on real tv. It's a godsend at 3am when most channels are airing infomercials.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Prime . Happily pay for it !
We have two kindles and a roku ... we watch tv and movies from it all the time, mostly free stuff and we borrow books, DS10 has been reading Harry Potter on it for free.

I have it too and love it. One thing some may not know is that you can share it with up to 4 other family members. Only the primary account holder gets the streaming benefits, but the other 4 family members get access to the 2 day shipping benefits.

We've had it for a year (next month) and love it. I paid NO shipping charges for Christmas gifts this year and got them all in a couple of days and have only paid for a couple of items this past year that weren't under Prime. DH watches tv shows and movies on his Kindle Fire and we both get books all the time-I have Fire and Kindle 2. Prime is more than worth it. DH and I share his account.

I'm going to be the odd one out on this. So far I haven't had a need for it. I buy all the time from Amazon, throughout the year for many years now. Usually the item is over $25 so ships for free anyways, if it is not I add on an item that I need to pop it over. My need has to be a real need and not a want so I keep a few in my cart saved for later. I usually do groceries of some sort or have done books that I knew I would purchase for my son and just set them aside for later when they came. Most of the year my items arrive in 3 days, around Thanksgiving it gets wishy washy and takes closer to a week but this past week everything is back to arriving quickly and all before the 24th. I ordered a camera a 4 pm on Thursday, it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, the only holdup was weather in KY so it will be here Monday as it arrived at my local facility too late. That wasn't Amazon's fault.

I did the free mom's and watched all I wanted to watch. I find the selection of the few shows I would like to watch hasn't been updated in about a year so no loss there.

I have Prime now (brother-in-law added us to his account so we get free Prime shipping only, not the other perks) and like it but I wouldn't pay for Prime just for the shipping aspect. If you are wanting the other benefits of prime it is worth it.

Before getting Prime I would just wait to order until I had $25 worth of items in my cart to get free shipping. It worked fine for us doing it that way. I do have to say that the 2-day shipping we get now is nice! But it really doesn't matter either way. The other nice thing is now we can just order one book or something small instead of waiting to add $25 in items.

We have Netflix so we aren't really interested in Amazon's streaming. Most of the shows we are interested in aren't included in the Prime streaming (you'd have to pay for them).

can you add someone outside your household to your Prime account? I got a Kindle Fire HD yesterday and am considering getting Prime when the 1 month free trial is over and would love to be able to add my sister to my account for the shipping benefits.

Yes, my brother-in-law was able to add our account to his Prime (separate households) for the free shipping. He has been a Prime member for almost 10 years so I'm not sure if that makes any difference but as far as I know anyone can add someone. :)

It will & it is AWESOME! Just go to the Amazon Instant Video app on your Roku & sign in using your Amazon ID & password. It will link to your Amazon account & know that you are a Prime member.

We signed up using the app for HuluPlus on our Roku & apparently if you sign in with a Chase credit card (Disney Visa for us) it defaulted to one month free instead of one week. Sweet!

Prime streams both Movies & TV shows. Pretty cool. One thing to watch out for that I did not know - they rotate the movies! Iron Man 2 has been on my watch list for a couple of months now - thought it would be fun to watch again & I just got an email saying Sun is the last day it is free on Prime. After that it reverts back to paid streaming. I was wondering why there were items on my watch list that were not Prime - now I know, stuff rotates in & out of Prime.

So far, I have only observed TV shows being added to Prime, none removed as far as I can tell. They just added Heroes :cool1: wish I had time to watch that again.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

If you want to watch on your TV, get a Roku! One of my favorite new toys! Very cool! :cool1:

Love Prime! I can order from work or home and have my order at my doorstep in a day or two. I usually can't even find the time to get to the store that quickly. We live in a very congested area, so I dispise going to B&M stores anymore.

Really? I didn't know this..how do you set it up for them?
